If you are looking for a meaningful career, a culture of excellence, and the ability to make a difference, we want to talk to you!\nStaff Accountant\nLocation: West Loop Office - Chicago, IL (on-site)\nDepartment: Finance & Accounting\nReports To: Controller\nPosition Summary\nThe Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the Company's financial records and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. This position is responsible for complex general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, payroll-related accounting, and internal control compliance for a large, multi-location security services organization employing approximately 13,000 employees nationwide.\nThe ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, experience working in high-volume environments, and the ability to effectively collaborate across departments including payroll, operations, human resources, and finance leadership.\nEssential Responsibilities\nPrepare and record monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger transactions.\nPerform complex balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.\nSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.\nReconcile cash and payroll-related accounts, including wages, benefits, taxes, workers' compensation, and related liabilities.\nReconcile intercompany accounts\nAnalyze labor costs across multiple locations and business units.\nReview revenue, billing, and expense transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.\nAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.\nSupport external audits by preparing schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation.\nMaintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.\nEvaluate and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflow efficiencies.\nPartner with operational leaders to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide financial insights.\nAssist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools.\nSupport special projects, acquisitions, and growth initiatives as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.\nCPA designation or active pursuit of CPA preferred.\nExperience\n4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.\nA mix of public accounting and corporate experience is preferred.\nExperience supporting audits and financial reporting processes.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis functions.\nExperience with AI to enhance productivity and efficiency\nExperience with ERP and accounting systems\nExperience with payroll systems and labor-cost accounting is a plus.\nAbility to analyze large datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and process improvements.\nCompensation & Benefits\nTarget Salary Range: $80,000 -
