Our customers count on Tive to ensure that their shipments are delivered on time and in full-because every shipment matters.\nTive is looking for an ambitious Software Engineer Co-op that enjoys working on different aspects of software development and revels in the challenge of tackling a wide array of tasks and projects. Our ideal candidate is driven with great attention to detail and has the ability to work comfortably up and down the software stack. As part of your role you will help build a large scale data processing and analytics system that provides our customers with monitoring, analysis and predictions for shipments in supply chain management.\nOur ideal candidate has:\nStrong desire to learn and collaborate with the team\nStrong abstraction and design skills\nStrong understanding of data modeling and relational databases\nProficiency with server side languages such as C# and Python\nExperience with front end languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript\nFamiliarity with databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, and MongoDB\nAbility to work with remote coworkers in other time zones\nBonus points:\nExperience with AWS hosting environments and DevOps\nExperience with big data streaming platforms such as AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka\nKnowledge of front end frameworks such as Angular or React\nExperience using Docker and/or Kubernetes to build containerized applications\nFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum\nExperience working with Customer Success to troubleshoot and correct customer issues\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nCollaborate with software engineers, product owners, and QA testers as part of an agile scrum team to design, develop, and implement new features.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers.Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives to gain hands-on experience with agile development practices.\n\nAssist with debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects in a timely manner.\nContribute to the creation and execution of unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality.\nLearn and apply industry best practices in software engineering, including version control (e.g., Git), code review processes, and continuous integration.Support documentation efforts for new features, technical designs, and implementation details.\n\nNeed to know info\nThe term for this co-op will be from roughly January to July 2027, although there is flexibility for both start and end dates.\nThis is a full time position\nMust be available to work on-site at our Charlestown office at least 3 days per week (with preference for 5 days per week in-office).\nWhat does Tive offer?\nA chance to join what may very well turn out to be the most important company in your career.\nThe autonomy and resources to build what you know how to build.\nWork with a committed global team that have each others back.\nOffice-based or hybrid options.
