The incumbent will be required to routinely work with sources of ionising radiation and within a controlled radiation environment.\nKey responsibilitiesReview, implementation and maintenance of the Radiation Protection Programme at a particle accelerator facility\nEnsuring regulatory compliance related to the safe operation, control, and radiation protection of ionizing radiation-generating equipment and radioactive material\nPerforming radiation monitoring and dose assessments and conducting radiation safety assessments\nSupporting radiation safety training\nInvestigating radiation incidents, and promoting the ALARA principle to protect workers, the public, and the environment\nPerform routine work with sources of ionising radiation within a controlled radiation environment\nQualificationsBSc(hons) Physics with Radiation Science Or BEng(hons) Nuclear Engineering\nKnowledgeKnowledge of radiation protection principles and legislation\nRadiation protection of ionizing radiation-generating equipment and associated activities\nRadioactive material management\nDose assessment\nRadiation monitoring and instrumentation\nRegulatory compliance relating to ionizing radiation-generating equipment and radioactive material\nRadioactive material use and conveyance\nEmergency preparedness within a nuclear or radioactive materials environment\nExperienceA minimum of 2 years' experience in a radiation protection programme as a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) or in an equivalent role at an accelerator isotope production, nuclear medicine, or nuclear
