Receptionist

About L Hotel Fátima: The Lakhani Group (TLG) is opening L Hotel Fátima on 12 October 2026, and we are building our founding team.

Receptionists are the first point of contact for our guests, many of them pilgrims and international visitors to Fátima. You will deliver a warm, efficient welcome from check-in to check-out. Shift: rotating morning/afternoon, including weekends. Reports to: Hotel Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Check guests in and out, manage room allocation and issue key cards
• Handle reservations by phone, email, walk-in and online channels (OTAs)
• Process payments, invoices and deposits accurately, and balance the cash float at shift end
• Respond to guest requests and complaints promptly, escalating where needed
• Provide local information on the Sanctuary of Fátima, transport, restaurants and tours
• Coordinate with Housekeeping on room status and with the Porter on luggage
• Register foreign guests in line with Portuguese guest-reporting requirements
• Keep the lobby and front desk tidy and presentable

Applications are reviewed daily and interviews run on a rolling basis until positions are filled.

Requirements

• Fluent Portuguese and good English; Spanish, French or Italian is a strong advantage
• Previous experience in hotel reception or customer service
• Comfortable with computers; experience with a property management system (PMS) is a plus
• Friendly, well-presented and calm under pressure
• Available for rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Nice to have: hospitality or tourism qualification; another language common among tourists
