Port Solutions\nOffice LocationGA, FL, Roanoke, VA preferred\nBusiness Function/DepartmentIndustrial Systems/Field Engineering Port Solutions\nSales Territory, if applicableN/A\n General Role Description\nProvide Technical Advisory Services (TAS) to coordinate installation and commissioning activities for assigned projects while meeting project schedules and performance criteria.\nRole Accountabilities\n- Commission AC and DC drive systems and/or control software to meet design performance criteria\n- Perform tune up of closed loop regulators to ensure optimal equipment performance and meet design parameters\n- Develop, verify and implement algorithms that define the electro-mechanical operation of industrial/Port machinery, primarily Port crane systems\n- Troubleshoot and correct process application problems in complex control systems\n- Design, configure, and test system software and hardware to meet contractual requirements when assigned\n- Gather pertinent information from authorized sources to assess project requirements as related to assigned scope of work\n- Provide regular, accurate, and considered commissioning status reports to parties deemed appropriate to the situation\n- Lead respective process component of client witness system acceptance test when assigned\n- Recommend changes to commissioning procedures to improve system performance\n- Recommend software or hardware improvements to engineering department\n- Maintain current safety qualifications appropriate to the assigned tasks and adhere to both Company and client safety requirements\n- Coach associates in specific areas of technical expertise when identified by management as a function expert\n- Train client personnel on system maintenance procedures and/or system operation to ensure optimum performance and minimum downtime\n- Plan and execute special projects up to 9 months in duration to support the department when assigned\nGeneral Employee Accountabilities\n- Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager\n- Give manager best advice\n- Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified\n- Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager\n- Exemplify Company Core Values: Integrity, Client Focus, Team Orientation, and Personal Commitment\n- Comply with all Company policies, practices, and procedures and all regulations and laws\n- Recommend viable improvements proactively\n- Ensure effective utilization of business tools and processes\nRequirements\nMinimum Qualifications\n- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering with control automation coursework, mechatronics, computer engineering or related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience\n- 2 years’ experience with process and automation controls\n- 2 years’ field engineering experience or 2 years’ experience working in the metals, port solutions, paper, or general industries\n- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts\n- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills\n- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility\n- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Access\n- Ability to climb and work on cranes at heights up to approximately 175 feet\n- Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, more than 75% of the time, sometimes with limited notice\nPreferred Qualifications\n- More than 3 years’ experience servicing a wide range of port equipment including overhead traveling cranes and components\n- Demonstrated ability to install, inspect, and maintain lifting equipment in accordance with relevant operating/installation instructions\n- Demonstrated experience working with international clients and field service\n- Demonstrated experience in international field engineering\n- Demonstrated experience in the metals, port solutions, paper, or general industries\n- Proficiency in Oracle ERP\n- Proficiency in MS Projects\nHiring Range: $79,350-$119,050\nLink to TMEIC Corporation Americas website: https://www.tmeic.com/.
