You will be responsible for designing scalable and reliable data solutions and supporting the ongoing evolution of our data infrastructure, leveraging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Airflow and ClickHouse to power mission-critical financial analytics.\nThis is a hands-on individual contributor role, rather than a people-management position. You will work closely with a small, collaborative Data team across Sydney and Mainland China, translating complex business requirements into practical, high-performance engineering solutions.\nStrong hands-on Python and SQL capabilities are essential, with the ability to independently develop, troubleshoot and optimise data pipelines in a real-time environment.\nResponsibility\nLead the design and evolution of highly scalable, fault-tolerant ETL/ELT pipelines.\nDrive the strategy for real-time messaging and stream processing using Kafka and RabbitMQ to ensure sub-second data availability.\nAct as the subject matter expert for ClickHouse, optimising complex schema designs, indexing strategies, and query performance for large-scale financial datasets.\nOversee the deployment of data services within cloud environments, implementing advanced security protocols and data governance standards essential for the finance industry.\nCollaborate with senior leadership to align data strategy with business objectives.
