Travel to these various points of presence will occur on an as needed basis via a company provided vehicle.\nTraining and tools will be provided. Once training is complete, the successful candidate will be assigned to the rotating on call schedule. Field Technicians work closely with various departments and interface with Telco’s and other third parties.\nGeneral Responsibilities Include:\nResponding to core and customer issues in a timely fashion as instructed \nProviding a high level of technical understanding for PenTeleData’s core and customer networks\nInstalling Cable and Equipment as required within our core and customer locations\nMentoring other employees as required\nInteracting with Telco's and other third parties as needed to resolve installation/repair problems\nEffectively communicating with customers and other parties as needed for the resolution of customer or network problems\nReturning defective equipment promptly for testing and repair\nEffectively using a laptop and other test equipment for testing customer connections and repairing customer / network services\nTraveling to various locations within our companies footprint as needed\nOther duties as needed \nQualifications:\n2-4 Years Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications Degree or Electronic / Electrical Trade School OR 2+ years’ experience working within the Electronics, Computer or Telecommunications Industry\nEstablished Residency in Pennsylvania\nValid PA Driver’s License and good driving record\nValid Real ID or Passport as we sometimes fly employees and/or need them to access government buildings\nLAN / WAN Experience\nExperience and Knowledge of Cisco Products\nComprehensive understanding of TCP / IP\nUnderstanding the technology behind routers, hubs, switches, transceivers and NIDS\nTechnical Understanding of Electronica / Electric; basic understanding of 48v DC\nKnowledge of Data Transmission Technology - Fiber Optics, Ethernet, telephony and fiber networks\nExceptional Customer Service Skills\nExceptional Communications Skills - oral and written\nExcellent Troubleshooting Skills\nAbility to work varied hours \nAbility to be on call during off hours on a rotating basis\nAbility to work nightshift on Tuesdays and Thursdays \nAbility to work overtime as required \nAbility to use small hand tools\nAbility to lift and carry up to at least 50lbs\nAbility to travel within our company footprint as needed\nINDHP","description_format":"text","description_chars":2918,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Media & Entertainment","Auctions","Publishing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-28T20:53:06Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":83,"reasons":["conf:10","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-10-02T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/tnonline-network-field-technician","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/tnonline-network-field-technician.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-03T02:03:19Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2191,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2809,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-04T00:00:00Z"}}}
