In this remote role, you will work on books and journals in the sciences or humanities, including technical and scientific research, medical and health sciences, and humanities and social sciences. Your work will deliver manuscripts edited to the highest standards, in line with journal and publisher style guides.\n\nWhat will you do?\n\nEdit books and journal articles for spelling, grammar, syntax, usage, punctuation, clarity, and nomenclature, ensuring consistency and rephrasing sentences as needed.\n\nEliminate redundancies, fix dangling modifiers, and correct errors in parallel structure.\n\nEnsure consistency in active/passive voice, first/third person usage, and present/past tense.\n\nQuery authors for clarity on ambiguous phrasing and make necessary adjustments to enhance readability and accuracy.\n\nEdit content to meet guideline-specific requirements (e.g., AMA/APA, abbreviations, rules about numbers, word lists, nomenclature, eponyms).\n\nEnsure articles meet journal and/or publisher expectations, delivering error-free work.\n\nEssential job requirements\n\nProficiency in English at the level of a native speaker of the language.\n\nExcellent editing skills and a minimum of 2 years of editing experience, particularly in the fields of medical/health sciences, scientific/technical content, and humanities/social sciences.\n\nThorough knowledge of AMA/APA guidelines.\n\nA keen eye for detail and an ability to ensure clarity and accuracy in edited content.\n\nA strong ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently.\n\nThe ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nSomeone who is/can be fully compliant with Indian tax laws.\n\nEducated to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree level in sciences/humanities.\n\nWorking for TNQTech\n\nWork-life balance: We want your work to be a seamless part of your life, and for you to have the flexibility of freelance work with the stability of consistent projects.\n\nSupportive teams: We are a dynamic and supportive team that values excellence, and are looking for people who can join us on our mission.\n\nNew career opportunities: You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of interesting and challenging scholarly research.\n\nCompetitive compensation: We offer competitive compensation based on your experience and quality of work.\n\nApply below\n\nIf you are passionate about editing and meet the criteria above, we would love to hear from you.
