This is a hands-on management role that combines technical expertise, people management, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate has strong experience in modern development technologies, team leadership, and software delivery processes.Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & ManagementDirectly manage a team of software developers, including hiring, performance reviews, and career development.\nMentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.\nBuild and manage a QA function to improve software quality and reliability.\nEncourage best practices through code reviews, pair programming, and continuous learning\n\n Development & Technical LeadershipDrive the technical vision and develop an architectural roadmap for the suite of products\nContribute directly to development efforts as needed - writing, reviewing and troubleshooting code in Java, Spring, JavaScript (Vue.js or similar) and SQL\nLead development initiatives, ensuring quality, scalability and maintainability\nGuide the team in applying sound engineering practices, code standards and design principles\nIdentify and execute UI/UX improvements to elevate product usability and customer satisfaction\n\nProcess Improvement & ToolingDevelop and refine development processes, including source control, deployment, CI/CD, and environment management\nCollaborate with internal groups to ensure developers have the necessary hardware, software, and tools\n\nCross-Functional CollaborationServe as the primary escalation point for customer-facing issues from the support team, including direct involvement in investigations and customer communications as needed\nWork closely with Product Management to translate product requirements into actionable development plans and timelines\nCommunicate project status, risks, and updates to internal stakeholders and customers\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.\n5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2+ years years in a managerial or team leadership role\nStrong hands-on experience with modern web development technologies, including:Java, Spring Framework\n Vue.js (or similar JavaScript frameworks)\n PostgreSQL or other relational databases\n\nExperience building and maintain web-deployed or SaaS applications.\nFamiliarity with software development best practices, including agile methodologies, CI/CD, version control (Git), and DevOps practices.\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills\nClear, collaborative communication style and willingness to work cross-functionally\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with financial markets, exchanges, market data and market data vendor platforms\nExperience working in a fast-paced software environment.\nFamiliarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).\nExperience improving QA or test automation.\nFor this role, we anticipate paying $165,000 - $175,000 annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
