The Project Reliability Engineer is in charge of managing projects, from concept to construction, and commissioning, to improve the overall reliability of the operation. This role identifies, designs and implements improvements focused on increased equipment availability. The Plant Project Reliability Engineer works closely with Operations, Shipping, Maintenance staff and hourly personnel to provide technical support and improve the overall reliability of the operation. This role will proactively lead, seek, and implement solutions to acute equipment failures, and report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.\nEssential Functions\nIdentify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant/business operations\nUtilize engineering knowledge, expertise and techniques to:\nPrevent failure modes\nReduce the likelihood and frequency of failures\nIdentify and correct the causes of failures that do occur\nParticipate in developing plant project needs and 5 year Capital and Plant Expense Project Plans\nDevelop all engineering, drawings and equipment specs required to accurately support project development including RFQ’s, cost estimates, justifications / benefits and AFE preparation\nManage all Project Phases after approval including Construction / Contractor Management, Commissioning and Operations Handover\nEnsure all projects are executed safely and meet Safety Compliance requirements resulting in Zero Accidents or Serious Incidents\nEnsure all Operating and Maintenance Procedures are prepared prior to handover to the plant\nControl and keep projects under budget and on time; prepare forecasts and reports on spending and physical completion to plan\nEnsure city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to projects are met at all times\nManage Engineering and Project records and Documentation of the plant including storage and retrieval\nLead reliability analysis (Paretos, FMEA, etc.) to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness\nWork with Plant Management to develop and execute specific plans including schedules, resource requirements and costs that will address opportunities to improve the reliability of operations\nTrack reliability KPIs and propose course corrections to be on target and continuously improve\nWrite Management of Change (MOC) documents for equipment changes\nProvide technical support to plant personnel\nComprehend and respond accordingly to environmental safety procedures and mandates\nOther duties as assigned by manager\nRequired Education and Experience\nB.S.M.E. with 7+ years of experience in a chemical plant environment\nInfluence leadership skills within groups\nDemonstrated working knowledge of major equipment: Boilers, steam turbines, air condensers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, fired dryers, bag filters, conveyors, bucket elevators, air blowers, fans and refractory lined equipment\nWorking knowledge of fixed equipment inspection techniques and compliance standards\nDemonstrated experience setting up mechanical integrity programs\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and with documented reports\nProficiency working with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using root cause techniques\nHands-on experience for some of the following: design engineering, estimating, purchasing, supervision of consulting engineers and construction management\nAbility to develop “cost of reliability” analysis to drive improvement projects and activities\nExperience with the identification/application of PdM technologies and data analysis\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and with documented reports\nPreferred Education and Experience\nExperience with the identification/application of PdM technologies and data analysis\nCertified PMP\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and with documented reports\nProven results using Planning & Scheduling and 5S to improve maintenance workflow and execution\nTurnaround
