Today, we employ over 300 people and have secured more than £280 million in investment.\nWe operate through three divisions:\nFusion - Fusion energy technologies, expertise and testbeds for government and private fusion programmes, including ST40, the world’s highest field spherical tokamak.\nTE Magnetics - HTS systems for commercial applications including fusion energy, power distribution, life sciences, and propulsion.\nRidgway Machines - Manufacturing equipment for the superconducting, electrical and wider energy sectors, enabling the rapid industrialisation of HTS products.\nOverview of the role\nTEM is a new structure within Tokamak Energy. We want to usher in the HTS era. As a manufacturing process engineer you will develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes withing TEM with a focus on safety, quality and repeatability. It will involve working closely with the R&D, technical, design, safety and quality teams with a focus on achieving a robust, reliable and scalable manufacturing model.\nIn this role, you will:\nDevelop new HTS coil manufacturing and assembly processes.\nAssess and improve existing manufacturing processes to ensure it can accommodate both custom and scalable production\nSupport R&D team on rapid prove of technology concept \nCollaborate with the R&D team to transition innovations into production-ready processes\nProvide training and mentoring to other members of the manufacturing team as well as to TE technicians and contractors.\nEstablish and lead training matrix requirements and tracker to ensure sufficient training is provided to all process operators.\nOversee maintenance of manufacturing tooling and machinery. \nParticipate in design and build of HTS coil manufacturing tooling, jigs and fixtures.\nOversee and assess new and existing processes and workflows.\nPerform risk assessment to ensure new and existing manufacturing processes meet company EHS requirements\nCreate, update and maintain manufacturing documents.\nLead NPIs to support new methods of manufacturing \nRequirements\nDegree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or appropriate experience and proven track record of manufacturing process development.\nProven hands on skills (manual tools, machining, assembly etc.)\nExperience in manufacturing tooling design build and commissioning.\nAbility to write manufacturing process documentation (Work instructions, process flows, route cards, control plans etc.)\nExperience of working with superconducting materials and coil winding tooling is desirable\nGreat communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability report project status, issues and plans concisely and effectively in different forums.\nAdaptable and resilient, with the ability to deal with ambiguity\nProactive, energetic and delivery focused, with good problem-solving skills\nDesirable: Quality control and quality inspection experience.\nBenefits\nSalary range up to £50,000 dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed from the outset\n25 days holiday + bank holidays, plus discretionary festive shutdown\nPerformance-led rewards including discretionary bonus, innovation and merit schemes\nShare options - a stake in our future success\nPension and comprehensive financial protection package including death in service and critical illness cover\nHealth and wellbeing support, including cash plan and 24/7 assistance\nOngoing investment in your growth with training and career progression\nBe part of world-changing innovation in Fusion Energy\nImportant information for candidates\nNo terminology in the advert or job description is intended to discriminate on the grounds of a person’s age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
