Performs regular preventive maintenance and repair and strives to improve operational quality of the facility and its equipment, and leads other Maintenance Technician staff members in these functions.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nResponsible for engineering support and maintaining equipment and processes to include the construction, modification and improvement of equipment, with assistance from Maintenance Tech I and II staff.\nResponsible for training and directing Maintenance Tech I and II staff in equipment operation, set-ups and repairs.\nResponsible for training maintenance and production employees on the use, maintenance and cleaning of equipment.\nResponsible for maintaining content of training records for department, in compliance with cGMP standards.\nDesign and fabricate machined parts and manufacturing tools using drills, lathes, milling equipment and other fabrication equipment.\nDevelop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for equipment and systems.\nEstablish and maintain records that demonstrate conformity with FDA, cGMP, and SOP standards.\nConfer with management, quality and production managers to resolve problems found.\nMaintain process equipment and machinery, and perform scheduled maintenance operations.\nRecommend and assist with implementing measures/processes to improve operating conditions of equipment.\nAssist the Engineering department in process / product layout and design.\nPerform installation of machines and equipment.\nResponsible for maintaining spare parts inventory for assigned equipment, including monitoring levels, initiating requisitions, completing budget review, and ordering necessary materials.\nRequisition maintenance supplies, machinery, parts and equipment as needed.\nPerform electrical troubleshooting and component replacement as needed.\nParticipate in required annual hazardous waste training. Hazardous waste involvement may include, but is not limited to container and tank management and inspections, generation of hazardous waste as a part of production or sampling processes and transfer of hazardous waste between lab procedure area, satellite accumulation and storage. Respond to spills per the Chemical Spill Procedures.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nAbility to manage maintenance operations and set priorities and personnel assignments during the shift.\nBe able to operate the equipment needed to manufacture tools and machine parts.\nPossess a thorough understanding of the operations of drills, lathes and milling equipment.\nHave the ability to read and create schematics, blueprints and other documentation for fabrication of machine parts.\nHave the ability to work with gauges, calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators and other items necessary to complete the manufacturing of tools and machine parts.\nAbility to carry out electrical troubleshooting to root-cause, mechanical repairs, maintenance and set up of production equipment.\nAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair technical support equipment.\nProficiency in welding and machining preferred.\nHigh mechanical aptitude; ability to analyze the mechanics of new projects for the most efficient outcome, and to troubleshoot mechanical / electrical devices and repair them to good operating condition.\nComputer skills to include Word and Excel.\nAbility to work well with employees and outside contractors.\nNeat and organized.\nAbility to multi-task and prioritize multiple job functions\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to stand for long periods of time, and to squat, kneel, and bend frequently.\nAcceptable driving record.\nCore Values\nThe Production Maintenance Technician III is expected to operate within the framework of Tolmar’s Core Values:\nCenter on People: We commit to support the well-being of our patients.
