Interviews will be conducted in person.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop software applications based on functional requirements using Twelve-Factor App methodology.\nDesign and develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.\nCollaborate with product design and engineering teams to understand business and technical requirements.\nDesign, develop, and maintain microservices using Spring Boot, Java, and RESTful architecture.\nDevelop SOAP-based web services using JAX-WS, Apache Axis, and Web Services Description Language (WSDL).\nApply DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket.\nWork with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and containerization technologies.\nCollaborate with business analysts, quality assurance teams, project managers, and other stakeholders.\nDevelop comprehensive Java unit tests based on real-world scenarios using JUnit, Mockito, and PowerMock.\nParticipate in customer technical discussions, architecture reviews, design sessions, and development meetings.\nRecommend technical solutions to enhance existing architecture, improve code quality, and optimize development processes.\nProvide technical guidance and support to junior and mid-level developers.\nMaintain continuous learning and stay current with emerging technologies.\nPerform other duties as assigned or directed.\nRequirements\nMinimum Qualifications\n 10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs).\n Master's degree with 5+ years of experience, Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience, OR 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.\nExtensive software design and programming experience using Java and Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) technologies.\nExperience working on Agile projects, including strong knowledge of Agile terminology and tools such as Agility.\nExperience designing high-throughput, low-latency Java systems and scalable architectures supporting high volumes of concurrent requests with minimal response times.\nStrong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.\nExperience integrating and operationally supporting LLM and agentic AI components within enterprise applications, including: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector search, Agent orchestration frameworks, LLM evaluation and guardrail approaches, and Deployment, monitoring, and automated retraining pipelines.\nTechnical experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL, AWS S3, Agile software development, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins CI/CD, Eclipse, code reviews, multithreaded application development, and production support.\nExperience designing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS using PostgreSQL.\nExperience with modern continuous integration and software development tools, including Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, SonarQube, Fortify, and UrbanCode Deploy.\nHands-on experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs.\nExperience with automated unit testing using JUnit and mocking frameworks, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber.\nExperience with JEE technologies, including: Struts, Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, and Batch), Spring Boot and Spring JDBC, JPA and Hibernate, SOAP/RESTful web services and XML, DB2, Tomcat, and WebSphere.\nExperience using static code analysis tools such as SonarQube and addressing technical debt, including bugs, vulnerabilities, and code security hotspots.\nKnowledge of web application security vulnerabilities and remediation practices.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nMust be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD, five days per week.\n Must be available to attend an in-person interview.\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong understanding of emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) trends and the ability to apply AI technologies to enhance or redesign existing system architectures.\nAbility to identify opportunities where AI-driven solutions can add business value, improve operational efficiency, or introduce new capabilities.\nExperience writing technical white papers and system design documents.\nPrior experience supporting federal or state government IT projects.\nBenefits\nSalary: $125,000-$155,000/year, based on experience\nHealth insurance stipend.
