You will join the operations team developing solutions to overcome our existing design challenges that combine complex mechanical and electronic systems. You will work on improving existing mechanical and electromechanical components. \nOur team offers a unique opportunity to define a new category and build experiences with a variety of technologies and manufacturing processes.\nWhat You Will Do\nDesign & maintain updates of mechanical parts and systems\n\nDevelop and deliver design improvements on current models and provide feedback next generation products\n\nWork across groups to understand context, goals, and constraints\n\nCommunicate clearly to upper management on deliverables\n\nPlan and lead cost savings projects\n\nGenerate concepts and solutions to help improve our product performance, quality and process yields\n\nDevelopment through prototype, test and iteration\n\nPerform required environmental and mechanical testing working with our in-house test technicians\n\nOwn sub-systems and key partnerships\n\nDomestic and international travel may (eventually) be required\n\nExpand and improve the team’s capabilities, processes and expertise\n\nWho You Are\nMechanical engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience\n\nMinimum of a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering\n\nRelevant experience in automotive, aerospace, exercise equipment, industrial equipment, major appliances, or robotics a plus\n\nMechanism design experience\n\nHands-on problem solver with prototyping expertise\n\nStrong understanding of material properties\n\nDemonstrated FEA expertise\n\nExpertise in part/assembly design, 3D modeling (we use Solidworks)\n\nExperience with a variety of materials and manufacturing technologies\n\nFull Product lifecycle and design experience maintaining multiple level configurations\n\nExperience working with Contract Manufacturers, ideally in Asia and/or Mexico\n\nCollaborative style and able to navigate through a growing organization\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills\n\nAbility to work independently and meet tight deadlines\n\nAt Tonal, we believe that the unique and varied lived experiences of our teammates contribute to our overall strength.
