This is a great opportunity to join a newly formed, dynamic team and contribute to the full stack development of our next generation proof of human devices.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, implement, and maintain embedded Linux and Android system components, including kernel modules, init scripts, and system daemons.\n\nDevelop and extend AOSP and custom HALs and in to support new hardware features and platform services.\n\nWork to define robust communication interfaces between system components.\n\nManage entire software development lifecycle from concept to production with a focus on developing scalable systems\n\nServe as an interface between firmware/hardware teams and Android application teams\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, product) to optimize system performance with a clear understanding of UX and customer needs\n\nSupporting overseas development with JDM/ODM partners\n\nIntegrate and optimize low-level drivers and middleware for performance, reliability, and power efficiency.\n\nMentor junior engineers in development best practices\n\nAbout You:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field\n\n7+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong understanding of all levels of the software stack\n\nExperience working with Android and AOSP based platforms\n\nExperience developing and maintaining consumer electronics systems at large scale\n\nStrong proficiency in C/C++/Rust and experience with Linux kernel and user-space programming\n\nHave shipped high volume mobile Android based devices\n\nDeep understanding of AOSP internals, HAL framework, and Android system bring-up\n\nExperience implementing custom HALs and IPC interfaces (Binder, HIDL, AIDL, or similar)\n\nExperience working with cross-compilation toolchains, device trees, and hardware abstraction layers\n\nComfortable working in a start-up or high-velocity team environment, with a proactive, hands-on approach\n\nNice-to-Haves:\nFamiliarity with Yocto, Buildroot, or Android build systems\n\nHands-on experience with embedded Linux, BSP development, and system integration\n\nPay transparency statement (for CA and NY based roles): \nThe reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH ranges from $246,500 - $290,000, plus a competitive long term incentive package.
