TopDog Law is a personal injury law firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona, that handles client cases end to end, from marketing and intake through pre-litigation, settlement and litigation. Operating as a fully remote organisation, it reports growing two to three times year over year for three years and is scaling case management and operations nationally, with teams covering states such as Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee. It hires settlement supervisors, pre-litigation case managers, receptionists, trust accounting and law firm analytics staff, data and product managers and IT specialists.

Our Story

TopDog Law is not your typical law firm. We're a nationally scaling personal injury firm built for impact and growth - owning the client experience end-to-end, from marketing and intake through litigation. We believe that world-class marketing, paired with exceptional legal talent and operations, creates better experiences and outcomes for clients and the business alike.

Over the past three years, we've grown 2-3x year over year, setting a new standard on the marketing side of the personal injury space and proving what's possible when strategy, speed, and execution align. Now we're applying that same discipline and innovation to firm operations, case management, and national scale - intentionally building the infrastructure, systems, and teams to grow without sacrificing quality, culture, or accountability.

We are a fully remote team that share trust, open communication, and a commitment to doing great work. If you love ownership, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and want to help build something exceptional, you'll feel right at home here.

The Opportunity

TopDog Law is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Treasury to lead the firm’s treasury function and ensure the organization has the liquidity, cash visibility, banking infrastructure, and financial controls needed to support continued growth.

This role will oversee daily cash management, banking relationships, cash forecasting, liquidity planning, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and treasury risk management. The Director of Treasury will partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Executive Leadership, and other business leaders to ensure capital is efficiently managed and financial decisions are supported by accurate, timely cash-flow information. This role will also support our Trust Operations department, which processes settlement receipts and disbursements.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, operationally minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This person will build scalable treasury processes while remaining close to the day-to-day execution of the function.

What You Will Own

  • Lead the firm’s overall treasury function, including cash management, liquidity, banking, and payment operations.
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to provide leadership with clear visibility into liquidity and funding needs.
  • Monitor daily cash positions across bank accounts and entities and optimize the movement and allocation of cash.
  • Manage banking relationships, including account structures, banking services, fees, credit facilities, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Establish and maintain treasury policies, procedures, controls, and approval processes.
  • Oversee cash disbursements, wires, ACH activity, transfers, and other treasury-related payment processes.
  • Recommend and implement proper segregation of duties between IOLTA trust account activities and settlement accounting.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place around bank access, payment authorization, segregation of duties, and fraud prevention.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure bank activity, cash balances, and treasury transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Analyze cash utilization, working capital, and liquidity trends and identify opportunities to improve cash efficiency.
  • Support the development and implementation of treasury technology, banking platforms, and automation initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions and third-party treasury service providers.
  • Evaluate banking products, investment options, and other financial services as appropriate to the organization’s needs.
  • Assist with debt management, credit facilities, financing activities, and other capital structure initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain reporting that provides leadership with actionable insight into cash balances, liquidity, forecast accuracy, and treasury activity.
  • Identify and mitigate treasury-related risks, including fraud, counterparty, liquidity, interest-rate, and operational risks.
  • Establish scalable treasury processes that can support TopDog Law’s continued growth and expansion.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Operations, and Executive Leadership on projects involving cash, banking, payments, and financial risk.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to senior leadership regarding liquidity, cash management, and treasury strategy.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor treasury team members as the function grows.
  • Take ownership of special projects and other strategic financial initiatives as needed.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in treasury, corporate finance, banking, or a closely related function.
  • Experience leading or managing a corporate treasury function in a high-growth or complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, liquidity forecasting, banking operations, and treasury controls.
  • Demonstrated experience managing banking relationships and financial institutions.
  • Experience managing IOLTA accounts and knowledge of IOLTA compliance laws.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with the ability to build and analyze complex cash-flow models.
  • Experience with treasury management systems, banking platforms, ERP/accounting systems, or financial automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of ACH, wire transfers, payment processing, bank reconciliations, and cash controls.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of financial data and translate findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, fraud prevention, and financial risk management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and ability to identify and solve problems independently.
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-state, or rapidly scaling organization is strongly preferred.
