Visit us at packaging.toppan.com\nSummary Description:\nThe Shipping supervisor is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance, equipment repair, cost performance, and employee relations in a high performance work team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for plant shipping activities.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nLogistics & Transportation Leadership\nLead and oversee inbound and outbound material movements to support production schedules and customer requirements.\nManage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure service, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.\nLead shipper & receiver for transportation activities and proactively resolve shipment, delivery, and supply chain issues.\nMonitor carrier performance and conduct regular transportation and logistics reviews to identify improvement opportunities.\nWarehouse & Inventory Management\nMaintain ownership of inventory accuracy through proper ERP transactions, inventory adjustments, reconciliation activities, and physical inventory controls.\nLead monthly inventory reviews and implement corrective actions to address discrepancies.\nOversee inter-warehouse transfers and material flow activities to optimize operational efficiency.\nDrive adherence to FIFO practices and effective inventory rotation.\nSupport warehouse optimization through 5S initiatives, rack utilization, space management, and material handling improvements.\nOperational Excellence & Continuous Improvement\nIdentify and lead cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives related to logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.\nEstablish and maintain best practices to improve service levels, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and workplace organization.\nSupport month-end reporting, KPI tracking, and performance analysis.\nLead initiatives to improve material flow throughout the facility.\nLeadership & Compliance\nProvide day-to-day guidance and support for warehouse activities and personnel. Lead team of shipper/receiver/material handlers.\nLead training activities and ensure adherence to logistics and warehouse procedures.\nLead in Health & Safety, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement activities.\nSupport Safety, Quality, Inventory, and Customer audits while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.\nOversee warehouse equipment inspections, racking inspections, skid min/max controls, and housekeeping standards.\nThis is an onsite position based out of our Mississauga, ON Facility\nWe’d love to hear from you if:\nAre hands-on leader who enjoys coaching employees, building teamwork, and driving accountability.\nThrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities and customer requirements can change quickly.\nAre organized, proactive, and able to anticipate challenges and resolve problems efficiently.\nHave a continuous improvement mindset and are passionate about safety, quality, and operational excellence.\nCommunicate effectively and collaborate with Production, Planning, Customer Service, and other departments.\nQualifications:\n Minimum 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment.\nPrevious experience supervising or leading warehouse, shipping, or material handling teams.\nStrong knowledge of inventory management, shipping and receiving processes, transportation coordination, and warehouse operations.\nExperience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nWorking knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, inventory controls, and continuous improvement practices (5S, FIFO).\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nPost-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.\nCompensation:\nThe annual base salary range for this role is from $80,000 to $90,000\nAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support our employees’ overall wellbeing.
