At TopView, we challenge ourselves daily to raise the bar and deliver world-class sightseeing experiences.\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join our growing team in Dallas, TX. This role oversees the full spectrum of accounting operations and plays a critical part in safeguarding company assets. The Controller will lead financial reporting and monthly close, manage day-to-day treasury and cash processes, strengthen fraud prevention and internal controls, and ensure compliance across tax, insurance, licensing, and regulatory areas. The ideal candidate brings both technical accounting expertise and operational discipline, with the ability to balance detail-oriented execution and team leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.\nNOTE: This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Dallas, TX headquarters. The role requires regular interaction with team members, vendors, and external partners. Some travel may be required.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Reporting & Analysis\nPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements\nLead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met\nSupport FP&A in budget preparation and forecasting processes\nAccounting Operations\nOversee all general ledger activities and ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions\nManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes\nCoordinate and supervise annual external financial reviews (and audits as applicable) with outside CPA firms.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP and all applicable accounting standards\nTreasury & Risk Management\nManage daily cash management processes and prepare short-term cash forecasts to support liquidity needs\nImplement fraud detection and prevention procedures, including bank reconciliation reviews, positive pay, and ACH/wire controls\nEnsure accurate revenue recognition across all ticket distribution channels, and point-of-sale systems; reconcile ticketing platforms with bank deposits\nManage corporate insurance policies and coordinate renewals, claims, and broker relationships\nImplement and maintain robust internal controls and procedures\nCompliance, Controls, & Asset Protection\nCoordinate preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns with outside CPA firm\nEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and filing deadlines\nManage sales and local tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions\nSupport business license and regulatory compliance efforts\nEstablish and continuously optimize purchasing policies and approval controls to ensure cost-effective vendor management\nOversee inventory accounting, valuation, and control processes to safeguard assets\nSystems & Process Management\nUtilize NetSuite ERP system for financial management and reporting (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)\nDrive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy\nMaintain and enhance financial systems integration and data integrity\nSupport system implementations and upgrades as needed\nHR, Payroll & Workforce Oversight\nOversee payroll, benefits, and compliance; ensure accuracy, reconciliations, and cost control\nEnsure compliance with multi-state labor laws and reporting, maintaining strong internal controls\nTrack and analyze labor costs across departments and cities, linking headcount and staffing levels to financial performance and support staffing strategies and city-level profitability\nPartner with HR to improve policies, onboarding/offboarding, and align processes with financial controls.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nSupervise, mentor, and develop 2+ accounting staff members\nDevelop team capabilities through training and professional development\nFoster a collaborative and high-performance accounting team culture\nParticipate in hiring and performance management processes\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\nCPA certification required\nMinimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of month-end close and financial reporting\nDemonstrated experience in cash management, account reconciliations, and fraud prevention/internal controls\nPrevious Controller or Assistant Controller experience required\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis\nExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills\nStrong written and verbal communication abilities\nProven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven entrepreneurial environment\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in service industry, tourism, transportation, or hospitality sectors\nPublic accounting background with audit experience\nAdvanced degree (MBA or MS in Accounting) preferred\nHands-on experience implementing fraud detection tools, purchasing workflows, or inventory controls\nExperience managing or coordinating insurance renewals and claims\nExperience with multi-location operations\nKnowledge of sales tax compliance and regulations\nProject management experience\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary range: $130,000 -
