This position plays a critical role in ensuring passenger comfort and system reliability across our bus fleet.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems on Vanhool double-decker buses.\n\nPerform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, compressors, evaporators, and blowers.\n\nWork with both rooftop and underfloor-mounted HVAC units specific to multi-level buses.\n\nTroubleshoot electrical and electronic HVAC control systems using diagnostic tools.\n\nRecover, recharge, and handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA standards.\n\nMaintain accurate service records and report all work performed.\n\nCollaborate with other mechanics and technicians on broader bus maintenance tasks when needed.\n\nEnsure HVAC work meets all safety and compliance regulations.\n\nRespond to road calls and service interruptions related to climate control systems.\n\nMaintain inventory of HVAC-related parts and tools.\n\nRequirements:\nVocational or technical training in HVAC systems preferred.\n\n3+ years of HVAC technician experience, preferably in commercial vehicle or heavy-duty transport applications.\n\nExperience working with R134a and/or R1234yf refrigerants.\n\nEPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.\n\nKnowledge of diesel engine systems and bus electrical wiring schematics a plus.\n\nValid driver's license, CDL not required.\n\nAbility to work in confined spaces and on elevated platforms.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nMust be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior experience servicing HVAC on transit, coach, or double-decker buses.\n\nFamiliarity with brands like Carrier, Thermo King, Valeo, or Spheros.\n\nWork
