Partnering closely with creative teams and internal stakeholders, the Motion Designer creates impactful content that strengthens brand consistency, enhances audience engagement, and delivers accessible and engaging user experiences.\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDesign, create and produce high-quality motion graphics, animation, video, and multimedia content that supports marketing campaigns, corporate communications, social media, digital channels, and storytelling initiatives\nTransform concepts, messaging, and creative briefs into visually compelling content, including storyboards, motion concepts, animated assets, and branded creative solutions from concept through final delivery\nEdit video footage and integrates animation, sound, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and audience engagement\nManage the motion design production process from planning through delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and meets established creative, technical, brand, and accessibility standards\nChampion and apply brand standards across all motion design assets, maintaining consistency in visual identity, animation styles, templates, and overall creative quality\nCollaborate with Marketing, Communications & Brand teams and internal stakeholders to translate business objectives into effective visual storytelling, while leveraging emerging technologies, design trends, and AI-assisted creative tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement\nREQUIREMENTS:\nPost-secondary education in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Digital Media, Animation, Visual Communications, Film Production or a related field\nSeven (7) or more years of experience in motion graphics, animation, or multimedia working within an in-house creative team, broadcast environment, agency, or corporate marketing and communications environments\nExtensive experience creating motion graphics, animated content, and visual packages for video, multimedia, and digital communications\nStrong knowledge of motion design, animation principles, visual storytelling, and video production techniques\nAdvanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, with strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and Media Encoder\nDemonstrated experience in animation, video editing, audio integration, visual effects, and post-production workflows\nDemonstrated ability to create compelling visual concepts and apply design principles, including typography, composition, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy\nExperience developing and maintaining visual identities, creative assets, and branded content across digital channel\nKnowledge of brand standards, accessibility requirements, and digital content best practices\nPortfolio demonstrating excellence in motion graphics, animation, video editing, and digital creative work\nStrong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and partner with stakeholders across the organization\nStrong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines and competing priorities\nDemonstrated curiosity and passion for exploring and applying emerging technologies, design trends, AI-assisted creative tools, and innovative storytelling techniques\nPortfolio Preferred: Candidates are encouraged to include a link to their portfolio in their resume or cover letter, highlighting samples of their motion graphics, animation, video editing, and digital content work.\nTOTAL REWARDS \nTo support the overall well-being and success of our employees, Toronto Hydro provides a comprehensive total rewards package which includes:\n100% employer paid Health & Dental benefits\n24/7 access to Employee & Family Assistance Program and Virtual Healthcare\nCompany-paid life insurance and long term disability\nSpending account to support fitness goals (e.g. gym memberships)\nCompetitive paid time off (including vacation and parental leave)\nDefined Benefits Pension Plan through OMERS\nCareer development and tuition reimbursement\nExciting employee engagement and appreciation events throughout the year\nThis position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs.
