We arethe world’s first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.\nTorus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.\nAt Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.\nAbout the Role\nThe Field Services Superintendent is a senior leader within Torus field operations, reporting directly to the Director of Install. This role owns two distinct but complementary missions: elevating the craft quality and consistency of Torus internal field teams, and building the external installer ecosystem that supports Torus product deployment at scale. The right candidate is an experienced journeyman electrician who is as comfortable developing a training curriculum as they are stepping onto a job site to support a team under pressure.\nThis role launches as a senior individual contributor with broad functional authority across training, craft standards, documentation, and third-party certification. As Torus scales toward its production capacity goals, the Field Training Superintendent is expected to build and lead a dedicated team - including training coordinators, field quality personnel, and certification support staff - to sustain and expand the function. The ideal candidate is someone who can build and run the program themselves today, and lead a team executing it tomorrow.\nWho You Are\nYou are an experienced Journeyman (or Master) Electrician who takes deep pride in the craft and thrives on elevating the quality, safety, and skills of those around you. You are as comfortable rolling up your sleeves on a job site to troubleshoot complex escalations alongside our team leads as you are in a classroom setting training apprentices, authoring installation manuals, or building a third-party certification program from scratch.\nEqual parts technical authority, clear communicator, and natural mentor, you serve as the strategic bridge between executive leadership, our internal field teams, and our expanding external installer network. While operating above the daily administrative layer of our team leads, you bring the technical clout and respect needed to set craft standards, guide training priorities, and step in whenever a team needs high-level field support. You are a builder who sees the big picture: you want to own and run the training and certification ecosystem hands-on today, and lead a dedicated team executing it tomorrow.\nResponsibilities\nInternal Training & Craft Standards\nDevelop and own the internal training program for Torus field personnel, including structured onboarding for apprentices and ongoing professional development for journeymen and team leads.\nEstablish and document craft standards, installation procedures, and safety protocols for all Torus field work, ensuring consistency across both the South Salt Lake and Springville facilities.\nIdentify skill gaps across field teams through direct observation and structured assessment; design and deliver targeted remediation.\nManage apprentice progression tracking, including milestone evaluations, hours verification, and coordination with applicable apprenticeship programs or licensing bodies.\nPartner with the Director of Field Operations to evaluate team leads and provide candid input on team readiness and individual development paths.\nField Support & Technical Escalation\nServe as a working field resource available to step into any team during difficult troubleshooting scenarios or periods of reduced team lead availability.\nExercise technical decision-making authority in the field without requiring director approval for scope-appropriate issues.\nConduct periodic field audits to validate that installations meet Torus standards and identify systemic issues before they become warranty or safety events.\nAct as a technical resource and sounding board for team leads facing novel or ambiguous field conditions.\nInstallation Documentation\nAuthor, maintain, and version-control Torus installation manuals suitable for use by trained third-party installers - not just internal crews.\nTranslate engineering intent into clear, field-usable procedures, including step-by-step instructions, torque specifications, wiring diagrams, and safety callouts.\nCollaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects current product configurations and is updated with each product revision.\nDevelop supplementary materials including quick-reference cards, checklists, and troubleshooting guides that support consistent third-party execution in the field.\nThird-Party Installer Certification Program\nDesign and lead the Torus Certified Installer program from the ground up, including curriculum development, hands-on training curriculum, assessment criteria, and certification standards.\nCoordinate logistics for installer training events, including scheduling, travel arrangements, facility preparation, and materials - managing end-to-end execution for groups traveling to Torus facilities.\nDeliver in-person training sessions for third-party installers, combining classroom instruction with hands-on product experience.\nDevelop and administer assessments to certify third-party installers, and maintain records of certifications, renewals, and any field performance issues flagged by the team.\nBuild and refine the certification program over time based on installer feedback, field performance data, and product evolution - treating it as a living program, not a one-time build.\nServe as the primary point of contact for certified installers seeking technical guidance post-training.\nOther duties and projects as assigned.\nRequired Experience\nJourneyman Electrician license (Utah or reciprocal state); Master Electrician license a plus.\nMinimum 8 years of field electrical experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.\nDemonstrated experience with energy storage systems, commercial/industrial electrical installations, or utility-scale power systems.\nProven ability to develop written technical documentation - installation guides, procedures, work instructions - that non-authors can successfully execute in the field.\nExperience training or mentoring apprentices or journeymen in a structured, results-oriented environment.\nStrong verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to small and large groups including external partners.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with DC microgrid systems, battery management systems, or flywheel/hybrid energy storage platforms.\nBackground in developing or administering a formal training or certification program.\nFamiliarity with NEC, IEEE 1741, or utility interconnection standards (e.g., PacifiCorp Policy 138).\nExperience working alongside engineering teams in a manufacturing or product development environment.\nAdditional Details\nBackground Check All candidates are subject to a background check.\nLocation + Travel The role is based at our Salt Lake Headquarters, GigaOne. Will require occasional travel up to 50%.\nSchedule Full-Time, Salaried\nCompensation $110,000 - $130,000 (Note: We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)\nWork Authorization Applicants must already have the legal authorization to work in the US without requiring any employer sponsorship.\nPhysical Requirements\nMust have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. \nMust be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.\nAbility to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.\nAbility to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet. \nAbility to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.\nAbility to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.\nMust report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.\nProficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.\nOur Perks & Benefits\nBenefits eligibility is based on employment status.\nFinancial\nEmployee Rewards Package including equity\n401(k) Retirement Savings Plan\nTorus paid life and AD&D Insurance with option to purchase additional coverage\nVoluntary short- and long-term disability insurance\nHealth & Wellness\nHealth Benefits Package: Choice between traditional PPO or HSA-eligible medical plans with Torus covering 50% of medical premiums; Dental insurance; and Vision insurance\nPlan participants have access to telehealth services, mental health support and coaching, and exclusive discounts on brands, dining, entertainment, and more.\nTime Off\nUnlimited discretionary PTO \n10 paid company holidays\nWaiting period-free 100% paid parental leave\nCulture & Community\nRegular company-wide offsites to showcase our progress and learnings. A time to step back, think strategically, and work on the business together.\nTeam members receive Torus branded gear\nPeer Recognition Program\nFully stocked break rooms with free snacks and drinks. Because great work deserves great fuel.\nTorus participates in E-Verify. Once you accept a job offer, we will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from your Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.","description_format":"text","description_chars":10729,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":["Dental insurance","Equity","Parental leave","Professional development","Retirement plans","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Energy Storage"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-02T03:36:46Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 1","filings_12m":1,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":192500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-03T21:08:04+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":7,"expected_fill_days":37,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-09T06:01:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":130000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/torus-field-services-superintendent","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/torus-field-services-superintendent.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-10T01:43:19Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3078,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1922,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-11T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":3781612},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=3781612"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ftorus-field-services-superintendent"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ftorus-field-services-superintendent"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ftorus-field-services-superintendent"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/torus-field-services-superintendent\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ftorus-field-services-superintendent"}]}
