We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.\nAbout the Role\nThe Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products, components, and sub-\nassemblies meet quality standards and customer specifications before they are shipped or\nmoved to the next phase of production. This role involves conducting visual and function tests,\nexamining materials, reading specifications, using precision measuring tools, and documenting\ninspection results to maintain high levels of quality control. As well as perform process audits,\nroot cause analysis, nonconformance review and disposition, and assist in rework/repair. This is\na hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to help build and mature Torus’s Quality\nManagement System (QMS) from the ground up - not step into a system that is already fully\nestablished.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with inspection and testing of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical assemblies\nand wiring, as well as mechanical assemblies for defects and any deviations from\nspecifications\nRead and interpret prints, schematics, engineering drawings, or product manuals to\ndetermine required standards\nUse precision measuring tools for electrical and mechanical assemblies, such as\nmicroscopes, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring\nmachines (CMM)\nIdentify and reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations and\nclearly label them for disposition and analysis\nDocument inspection results by completing detailed reports and logs, and input data into\nthe company database and quality tracking systems\nWork closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to perform in depth root\ncauses analysis and testing to identify defects and suggest improvements\nAssist quality management and engineering teams to investigate reported issues\nSupport the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of core Quality\nManagement System (QMS) processes, including Nonconformance Management\n(NCM), CAPA, Document Control, Supplier Quality, Change Management, Internal\nAuditing, Traceability, Complaint Management, Receiving and Shipping, and Employee\nTraining\nMaintain accurate traceability records across incoming materials, work-in-process, and\nfinished goods to support lot/serial tracking, recalls, and field investigations\nSupport supplier quality activities, including incoming inspection, supplier\nnonconformances, and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)\nParticipate in internal audits and help prepare for external and regulatory audits,\nincluding those related to UL certification requirements\nHelp create, organize, and maintain controlled quality documents (work instructions,\ninspection criteria, forms) within the document control system\nSupport employee training records and activities related to quality procedures, work\ninstructions, and product requirements\nAssist with receiving and shipping inspections to verify materials and products meet\nspecifications prior to acceptance or shipment\nAdhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.\nFollow company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and guidelines,\nto ensure compliance with applicable regulations\nOther duties and projects as assigned\nRequired Experience\nHigh school diploma\n3+ years experience in a technical manufacturing environment\nSolid basic math skills, Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office\n(Word, Excel)\nStrong attention to detail and quality control\nA passion for continuous learning and process refinement\nWorking knowledge of core Quality Management System (QMS) processes such as\nNonconformance Management (NCM), CAPA, Document Control, Supplier Quality,\nChange Management, Internal Auditing, Traceability, Complaint Management, Receiving\nand Shipping, and Employee Training\nComfort operating in a startup/scale-up environment where quality systems and\nprocesses are still being built and matured, rather than fully established\nPreferred Experience\nAssociates Degree and/or certifications in quality control is a plus (IPC-A-610,\nIPC/WHMA-A-620)\nExperience working with test fixtures and test reports\nExperience with quality management software\nProficiency in reading prints, technical documents, and schematics\nHands-on experience with precision measuring tools (multimeters, oscilloscope, calipers,\nmicrometers, gauges)\nExperience working with UL registered products and associated certification, listing, and\ncompliance requirements strongly preferred\nExperience helping build, implement, or mature a Quality Management System (QMS)\nfrom the ground up\nExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems\nFamiliarity with PDM (Product Data Management) and/or PLM (Product Lifecycle\nManagement) systems\nYou’ll be a great fit if you have a passion for helping to solve complex climate challenges and\nare committed to finding new innovative ways to preserve and enhance our planet.
