We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.\n About the Role\nAs a Swing ShiftManufacturing Engineer, you will be a key player in setting up and supporting our manufacturing processes. The Engineer is responsible for supporting the manufacturing and fabrication of our BESS (Torus Pulse) and FESS (Torus Spin) products. The role is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment, designing manufacturing fixtures, building & optimizing production flows, automating processes, and other similar duties. As a start up, there will be times when this role will require work outside its typical duties.\nResponsibilities\nSupport and maintain production equipment: Waterjets, Fiber Lasers, Bending Equipment, and CNCs\nSupport equipment programming. \nAssist with Design Validation Testing and Prototype builds\nEvaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs. \nDevelops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors. \nImproves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. \nAssures product and process quality by designing testing methods. \nProvides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. \nPrepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. \nLead in the “Design For Manufacturing” and continuous improvement process through the assigned product lines. \nSupport product development activities. \nComplete other tasks as necessary. \nRequired Experience\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, including Lean Manufacturing principles \nExperience developing new manufacturing processes \nExperience with industrial automation tools such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion systems \nExperience designing tooling, jigs, and/or fixtures using SolidWorks \nExperience optimizing production processes \nExperience programming CNC equipment\nExperience with metal fabrication processes. \nManufacturing/Industrial Engineering degree or related field is required \n1-5+ years related experience (or equivalent) \nPreferred Experience\nExperience designing and modeling the following in SolidWorks: sheet metal, tube laser, and steel structures are preferred\nHands-on building and fabricating are preferred\nYou’ll be a great fit at Torus if you’re motivated by building durable systems and taking responsibility for how they perform in the field.
