You will grow an engineering team, set standards for architecture and testing, and ensure models and services run securely and reliably in mixed cloud and on-prem environments.\nYour Growth & Impact\nAccelerate your leadership by managing a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers and software developers, improving capability through coaching and structured feedback.\nExpand your technical footprint by owning end-to-end delivery, from requirements and architecture to deployment and monitoring, across both AI and backend systems.\nBuild deep product experience by running model selection, integration and production monitoring for ML, NLP and Generative AI projects using tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow and Hugging Face.\nStrengthen your operational skills by enforcing secure development practices, CI/CD and observability so solutions meet enterprise reliability and Malaysian data protection expectations.\nConnect with customers and stakeholders by translating business needs into measurable roadmaps, guiding proofs of concept into production rollouts, and representing engineering progress to management.\nRequirements\nResponsibilities\n\nTeam leadership & growth\n\n Lead, coach and evaluate a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers and software developers, running regular 1:1s and structured feedback cycles to raise capability.\n\n Allocate work, set clear performance goals and mentor engineers on design, testing and deployment best practices.\n\n Recruit and develop talent by defining role expectations, interviewing candidates and creating training plans for technical growth.\n\n Champion inclusive team culture and cross-functional collaboration to keep delivery moving and knowledge shared.\n\nDelivery, architecture & quality\n\n Own end-to-end delivery from requirements and architecture to testing, release and post-release support for enterprise software.\n\n Define and enforce coding standards, API contracts, automated testing and CI/CD so releases are reliable and repeatable.\n\n Design and review scalable application architectures, data pipelines and integration points for mixed cloud and on-prem deployments.\n\n Manage project schedules, technical risks and resource allocation while reporting clear, measurable milestones to stakeholders.\n\nAI integration & operational resilience\n\n Lead AI and ML efforts including model selection, evaluation, integration and production monitoring for NLP, ML and Generative AI use cases.\n\n Establish observability, model performance checks and alerting to maintain reliable inference in production.\n\n Ensure secure development practices, access controls and data handling that align with Malaysian data protection expectations.\n\n Run proofs of concept with customers and vendors, then move validated solutions into production with clear rollback and support plans.\n\nRequirements\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\n Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience across software development, data analytics or AI engineering.\n\n At least 3 years of direct technical team leadership with responsibility for mentoring, work allocation and delivery outcomes.\n\n Proven track record delivering commercial or enterprise software into production; be ready to explain your role and project outcomes.\n\n Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering, Data Science, IT or a related discipline. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, spoken and written.\n\nHard Skills & Knowledge\n\n Programming: strong hands-on Python, working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and familiarity with Java or C++.\n\n AI & data stack: Machine Learning, NLP, LLMs and Generative AI with experience in PyTorch or TensorFlow, Hugging Face, scikit-learn, Pandas and NumPy.\n\n Application & infra: REST APIs, backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask, familiarity with React or Next.js, SQL and PostgreSQL, plus exposure to Supabase or Firebase.\n\n Engineering tools & deployment: Git, Linux, Docker, automated testing and CI/CD practices, with practical experience releasing and monitoring in cloud, on-premises or hybrid environments.\n\nSoft Skills & Qualities\n\n Strong software architecture, troubleshooting, estimation and project coordination skills for enterprise contexts.\n\n Clear stakeholder communication ability to translate business needs into technical specs and measurable roadmaps.\n\n Practical, customer-focused mindset with experience running proofs of concept and representing engineering progress to management.\n\n Familiarity with secure coding, API security and data governance practices relevant to Malaysian personal data protection requirements.\n\nAdded advantages\n\n Experience with MLOps, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, LLM fine-tuning or model serving
