In a world where digital security is constantly being challenged, we work to protect users against the latest & greatest threats.\nJob Purpose\nThe Accounts Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the finance team, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. This role will allow you to develop core accounting skills, including bookkeeping, invoice processing, payments, VAT support, and audit assistance.\nThe role is suitable for someone studying towards an accounting qualification (Level 3 AAT), or with experience in a finance environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nPurchase Ledger & Invoice Processing\nProcess supplier invoices accurately and promptly \nCode invoices correctly within the accounting system \nAssist in resolving invoice discrepancies and queries to ensure prompt approvalsSales Ledger & Credit Control Support\n\nRaise sales invoices where required \nSupport credit control activities, including following up overdue paymentsDay-to-Day Bookkeeping\n\nPrepare routine journals \nAssist with bank and credit card reconciliations \nMaintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records \nEnsure transactions are correctly coded \nSupport month-end processes by preparing basic reconciliations \nPayments\nAssist in preparing supplier payment runs \nEnsure payment approvals are obtained in line with company procedures \nMaintain payment records and filing \nVAT Support (UK & International Exposure)\nAssist in preparing data for UK and International VAT returns \nSupport the review of VAT coding on sales and purchase invoices \nMaintain VAT documentation and supporting schedules \nAudit Support\nHelp prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation \nGather documents requested by auditors \nRespond to straightforward audit queries \nMaintain organised records to support audit trails \nGeneral Finance Administration\nMaintain accurate filing (digital and physical) \nSupport the finance team with ad hoc tasks \nAssist with expense processing and policy compliance \nContribute to process improvements where appropriate \nSkills & Experience\nEssential\nBasic understanding of bookkeeping principles \nStrong numerical accuracy and attention to detail \nGood organisational skills \nBasic to intermediate Excel skills \nWillingness to learn and develop within a finance role \nDesirable\nStudying towards or interested in studying AAT (Level 3) \nPrevious administrative or finance experience \nExperience using Xero \nPersonal Attributes\nReliable and methodical \nEager to learn and develop technical skills \nComfortable asking questions when unsure \nAble to manage workload and meet deadlines \nPositive and proactive attitude \nTraining & Development\nThe company is committed to supporting professional development.
