The ideal candidate brings a solid engineering foundation, strong organizational skills, and a desire to grow into a senior technical role.\nEssential Responsibilities\nVessel Maintenance & Technical Support\nAssist the Port Engineer with planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance and repair activities for assigned vessels.\nHelp ensure all vessel work complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.\nSupport the development, execution, and improvement of preventive maintenance programs for machinery, equipment, and vessel systems.\nParticipate in troubleshooting technical issues, contributing to timely resolutions that minimize downtime.\nConduct routine vessel inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety risks, and areas for operational improvement.\nMaintain accurate documentation and records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment history.\nVendor, Regulatory, and Cross-Department Coordination\nCoordinate with internal teams, regulatory authorities, shipyards, and external vendors to prioritize and schedule repairs, inspections, and services.\nAssist in managing budgets for maintenance projects, spare parts, and repair activities.\nSupport procurement processes by providing technical input and monitoring vendor performance.\nWarehouse & Inventory Management\nWork with procurement and logistics partners to source parts, track orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials.\nCollaborate with operational teams to streamline warehouse processes, improve order fulfillment, and support vessel needs.\nVessel Attendance & Field Work\nAttend vessels during port calls in Jacksonville to support maintenance activities and coordinate technical needs.\nParticipate in periodic ship rides to gain operational familiarity and maintain working knowledge of vessel systems and crew practices.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor of Science in Marine Engineering, Naval/Marine Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering.\nKnowledge of vessel maintenance practices, port engineering functions, and warehouse operations.\nFamiliarity with marine industry regulations, standards, and best practices.\nSkills & Competencies\nProficiency with inventory management systems and maintenance record platforms.\nStrong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.\nWork Environment\nThis role involves a mix of office work, fieldwork aboard vessels, and activity within a warehouse environment.
