Duties include managing customer relationships, providing excellent customer service by monitoring and accommodating customer needs, creating, and managing bookings, resolving problems, producing invoices and reports, tracking and prioritizing cargo, entering and approving hazardous materials, and coordinating equipment. This position will be responsible for learning the job functions within these departments. The Cargo Management Department operates dayside and nightside shifts and this position will provide coverage while other team members are out of the office for the nightside shift.\nEssential Job Responsibilities AND Results\nCreate, assign and update trailer/vehicle bookings, Bills of Lading and Transport bookings.\nSupport customers by answering questions, tracking cargo, and resolving issues.\nCoordinate hazardous shipments, answer questions regarding regulations and stipulations with confidence.\nUse the 49 CFR to approve and enter hazardous shipments. \nArrange logistics transloads, deliveries and pickups.\nManages customer transactions including Documentation, Rating, Pre-Auditing, Invoicing and Problem Resolution.\nCollect payment via cash/credit cards with vehicle bookings.\nDevelop an understanding of customer business models/processes for all accounts. \nProvide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.\nAnticipate and resolve customer and vendor issues.\nBuild positive, collaborative relationships through open and interactive communication.\nEffectively perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by manager or supervisor.\nQualifications ( Education, Experience and Certifications)\nAssociate’s degree preferred.\nFour years’ experience in the transportation industry.\nDOT 49CFR HazMat Carrier Requirements (Water) Certification preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills And Abilities\nExcellent customer service skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nGood organizational skills.\nMust be a team player and provide support to the department. \nAbility to multi-task and prioritize.\nAbility to anticipate and understand customer needs.\nKnowledge of trailing equipment.\nAbility to use good judgment to make economical decisions.\nAbility to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy. \nComputer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel). \nWork Environment\nTypically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.\nAs part of the team, full-time employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, employee assistance program, 401(k) with company match and discretionary funding, tuition reimbursement, supplemental parental leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Full-time employees will receive a minimum of 10 days’ vacation, 10 days sick, 10 days paid holidays and one floating holiday every 12 months.
