Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day bookkeeping, banking, and end-to-end statutory tax compliance (GST, TDS, TCS, and Income Tax). The ideal candidate must be hands-on with accounting software (Tally Prime / Busy / Zoho) and up to date with the latest statutory mandates and filing portals.

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Day-to-Day Bookkeeping and Accounting:

• Accurate recording of purchase, sales, debit/credit notes, journal vouchers, and expense entries.
• Handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including payment scheduling and debtor follow-ups.
• Performing regular Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and ledger reconciliations with vendors/clients.

GST Compliance and Filings:

• Preparing and filing monthly/quarterly GST returns: GSTR-1 GSTR-3B, and assisting with annualGSTR-9/9C.
• Generating and managing E-Way Bills and E-Invoicing as per the latest government thresholds.
• Performing monthly Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation (GSTR-2B vs. Purchase Register) to resolve discrepancies with vendors.

TDS and TCS Compliance:

• Timely deduction and computation of TDS/TCS under applicable sections (including Section 194Q / 206C(1H) / 206AB / 206CCA mandates).
• Generating monthly tax challans (ITNS 281) and ensuring on-time tax payments to the government.
• Preparing and submitting quarterly TDS/TCS returns (Form 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ) and downloading Form 16/16A from the TRACES portal.

Financial Reporting and Audit Support:

• Assisting in month-end closing, preparing Profit and Loss statements, and Balance Sheet finalisation.
• Coordinating with Chartered Accountants / External Auditors for statutory audits and tax assessments.

Requirements:

• Education: B. Com / M. Com / Inter CA / CMA or equivalent degree in Commerce/Finance.
• Experience: Minimum 1.5-3+ years of relevant accounting and tax filing experience in an SME, corporate setup, or CA firm.

Software Proficiency:

• Strong hands-on proficiency in TallyPrime / Tally ERP 9(or Busy / Zoho Books).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, Data Sorting).
• Direct working experience on the GST Portal, Income Tax e-Filing Portal, and TRACES.
• Knowledge: Sound understanding of basic accounting principles, debit/credit rules, and updated Indian tax laws.
