Having recently acquired Greenscreen, the leader in the 3D trellis systems, we’re looking to continue our growth and position as a leader in the market.\nAbout the Team\nProduction is currently seeking an individual with metal and aluminum with welding experience for our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility. The Welding team works together with other departments to create, build, assemble and ship products for the commercial construction industry.\n\nAbout the Role\nAs a Welding Lead, you will lead the day-to-day execution of production activities for a team of approximately 5-8 employees. You will work under the direction of the Shift Supervisor to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, to established quality standards, and at expected productivity levels.\nYou will help maintain the flow of materials and jobs through the welding department, support team members as needed, monitor progress against the production schedule, and address routine production obstacles before they impact delivery.\nYou will also be involved in processing materials for custom products from CAD drawings and will support continuous improvement efforts designed to improve safety, quality, productivity, and flow. You’ll have a direct hand in accomplishing our #1 goal - a successful project in every way.\n\nWhat You Will Do\nLead the day-to-day execution of production activities for an assigned team of approximately 5-8 employees.\nEnsure production work is completed safely, on schedule, to established quality standards, and at expected productivity levels.\nMaintain and use visual production boards to communicate priorities, hourly targets, and progress against the production schedule.\nMonitor actual production performance versus the plan throughout the shift and take appropriate action when performance falls behind schedule.\nAssign and balance work among team members based on production priorities, workload, skills, and available resources.\nMaintain product flow through the welding departments while minimizing unnecessary waiting and work-in-process.\nRead and interpret production schedules, work orders, drawings, and applicable work instructions.\nSupport the processing of materials for standard and custom products, including work from CAD drawings.\nAnticipate and address routine production obstacles, including material shortages, equipment issues, quality concerns, staffing gaps, and other issues that may affect production.\nEscalate safety, quality, equipment, staffing, material, and schedule issues to the Shift Supervisor when they cannot be resolved within established procedures or authority.\nInspect and verify material before, during, and after the various processes to ensure quality requirements are met.\nIdentify defects at the source and prevent defective or questionable material from moving to the next process.\nCoach and assist team members with production processes, quality requirements, safety practices, and standard work.\nSupport cross-training and development of team members to improve flexibility and reduce dependence on individual employees.\nMaintain accurate production and other required records.\nComplete required paperwork for inventory purposes.\nReport defective material, faulty equipment, safety concerns, and other abnormal conditions to the Shift Supervisor promptly.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and abide by all plant safety regulations and work rules.\nParticipate in continuous improvement activities and help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, flow, and workplace organization.\nHelp implement and sustain approved process improvements, standard work, and visual controls.\nEncourage team members to identify problems and improvement opportunities and provide input on practical solutions.\nPerform other production-related duties and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the needs of the operation.\n\nWhat You Will Need\nProven experience in metal fabrication\nAbility to read and interpret CAD drawings and production schedules.\nOperating forklift, electric pallet jacks and jib cranes\nMinor computer experience\nUnderstanding of inventory control\nAble to read measuring tape and basic measuring tools.\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work effectively with and lead a team.\nReliable transportation, regular attendance and punctuality are critical\n\nWhat We Offer\n·Competitive salary\n·Paid time off\n·Paid holidays\n·Medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance\n·401k with employer match\n·Profit sharing\nOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets.
