(TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator to support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of TCI’s network infrastructure. This role works closely with TCI’s Network Engineer, Infrastructure and Security Team members to ensure network services are reliable, secure, and available to business users.\nThe role is responsible for assisting with network monitoring, incident resolution, device maintenance, configuration changes, firewall management, and implementation of network-related projects. The Network Administrator will also develop technical knowledge and skills across networking technologies, tools, and best practices.\nReporting to the Manager of Infrastructure & Support Services, you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining our network infrastructure, adhering to network standards and best practices for Information Services initiatives, and ensuring silent operations. This role offers an opportunity to grow networking experience, skills, and contribute to TCI’s infrastructure environment, within a culture that values innovation and teamwork.\nWhat We’ll Bring:\nCompany & Culture\nA hybrid work environment\nA work environment built on teamwork, flexibility and respect\nProfessional growth and development programs to help advance your career\nA focus on respect for people and continuous improvement\nSummer Hours - condensed work week during the summer\nBenefits\nCompetitive compensation package including bonus\nExtended health care and dental benefits effective immediately\nCompany pension plan with additional employer contributions\nAssociate vehicle discount program\nReimbursement programs (tuition & fitness)\nPaid holiday shutdown and competitive paid time off benefits\nSabbatical leave program\nWhat You’ll be Doing:\nNetwork Operations & Support\nMonitoring network infrastructure and responding to alerts and connectivity issues including after-hours support as required.\nTroubleshooting basic network connectivity, performance, and access issues.\nProviding second-level technical support for network-related incidents escalated from the Service Desk.\nAssisting with the administration and support of switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and other network devices.\nPerforming routine network device checks and maintenance activities.\nAssisting with network configuration changes under established procedures and direction from TCI’s Network Engineer, Infrastructure and Security Teams.\nMaintenance & Lifecycle Management\nSupporting the ongoing maintenance, patching, and upgrading of network devices.\nAssisting with hardware replacements, network equipment installations, and decommissioning activities.\nMaintaining accurate network documentation, including device inventories, configurations, diagrams, and support information.\nHelp identifying network equipment approaching end-of-life or requiring replacement.\nFollowing established standards for network configuration, security, and change management.\nIncident & Change Management\nInvestigating and resolving network incidents within established procedures and service levels.\nEscalating complex or high-risk issues to TCI’s Network Engineer, Infrastructure and Security Teams when required.\nParticipating in planned maintenance and change activities.\nDocumenting troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and changes in the appropriate IT systems.\nSupporting after-hours or on-call activities as required.\nProjects & Continuous Improvement\nAssisting with the implementation of network infrastructure projects and improvements.\nSupporting network deployments, office moves, equipment installations, and technology upgrades.\nParticipating in testing and validation of network changes.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve network reliability, performance, and operational processes.\nDeveloping technical skills through training, certifications, and hands-on experience.\nParticipate in architecture reviews and solution assessments.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nUniversity Degree and/or College Diploma in Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n3-5 years of IT network infrastructure experience.\nCCNA certification is required.\nExperience with Cisco routing/switching\nKnowledge or working experience with Fortinet Security would be an asset.\nExposure to firewall technologies and network security concepts.\nExperience with wireless networking.\nExposure to network monitoring and management tools.\nFamiliarity with ITIL practices and formal change management processes.\nUnderstanding of wireless technologies in business environments.\nAbility to install and troubleshoot enterprise-class routers, switches, load balancers, network access control (ISE).\nWorking knowledge of routing protocols and routed protocols, IP addressing concepts and standards.\nKnowledge with Microsoft systems such as AD, DHCP, DNS, etc.\nWorking knowledge of fundamental network concepts; OSI Model, routing, switching, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS.\nProficient with MS Office suite including MS Project and Visio.\nITIL service management tools; ServiceNow knowledge is an asset.\nUnderstanding of security and its impact on networking.\nGood communication, organization, time management, interpersonal skills, and stakeholder management.\nSolid analytical, problem solving, and creative thinking.\nTeam Player with a ‘can do’ attitude.\nAbility to work independently with moderate supervision.\nHighly self-motivated and driven to execute operational responsibilities and project delivery.\nProven ability to initiate & improve work processes to increase efficiency.\nAbility to collaborate with third party service providers, members of other IT teams, and Business Associates.\nAbility to explain technical issues in a way that other IT and Business Teams can understand.\nAbout Us\nToyota Canada Inc. is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
