We work as one to achieve our vision of being the world’s most trusted, innovative, liquidity and data solutions specialist.\nRole Overview\nSenior Java Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-level java applications for electronic trading systems across multiple asset classes, with expertise in cloud infrastructure, FIX protocol integration, and real-time message processing.\nShift pattern: Mid Shift, hybrid working: 3 days a week onsite.\nRole Responsibilities\nDevelopment of server-side Java design and development within banking and trading environments.\n\nMaintain code quality through comprehensive testing and code reviews\n\nL3 Support for deployment and investigation of production issues where appropriate.\n\nFollow SaFe agile methodology and participate in agile ceremonies and processes.\n\nMentor junior members of the team.\n\nAbility to work with multiple remote regions.\n\nWork with architecture and DevOps teams to follow guidelines and implementations.\n\nFollow standard SDLC processes, design patterns for development guidelines.\n\nExperience / Competences\nEssential\n8+ years of professional experience in global financial services, specifically in trading systems development\n\nProven expertise in server-side Java design and development within banking and trading environments\n\nJava Development: Advanced proficiency in enterprise Java development\n\nBuild Tools: Experience with Maven or Gradle (Maven preferred)\n\nFIX Protocol: Hands-on experience with FIX Protocol and FIX Engines (eg QFJ, Rapid Addition, UlBridge) in eg FX/Credit/Commodities Trading environments\n\nMiddleware: Working knowledge of Solace messaging middleware\n\nCloud Platforms: Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS (EC2/EKS)\n\nCI/CD: Proficiency with Jenkins and GitLab for deployment and continuous integration\n\nOperating Systems: Strong Linux administration and command-line skills\n\nDatabase: SQL experience and database management\n\nTesting: JUnit and related unit testing frameworks\n\nExcellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail\n\nOutstanding communication and collaboration skills in team environments.\n\nExperience working in Agile development methodologies (SaFe/Scrum).\n\nDesired\nDeep understanding of FX/Credit/Commodities products and financial instruments.\n\nExperience in electronic trading environments and market data systems\n\nFrameworks: Spring Boot and Google Guice dependency injection\n\nObservability: Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and metrics\n\nTesting: Cucumber for behaviour-driven development and automation testing\n\nInfrastructure: Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code\n\nCaching: Hazelcast distributed caching solutions\n\nContainerization: Kubernetes and AWS EKS experience\n\nExperience using AI tools in a Development Environment e.g. AWS Kiro\n\nJob Band & Level\nManager / 6\n\n#LI-Hybrid #LI-MID\nNot The Perfect Fit?\nConcerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
