We work as one to achieve our vision of being the world’s most trusted, innovative, liquidity and data solutions specialist.\nGlobal Analytics within TP ICAP is a specialised technology team which is responsible for developing and maintaining price discovery and analytical solutions, that support the Front Office and clients across multiple asset classes.\nRole Overview\nAs a C++ Software Engineer at TP ICAP you will develop and maintain high-performance C++ systems that power price discovery and analytical solutions across multiple asset classes. Working alongside Senior and Principal Engineers, you will take part in the analysis, design, development and testing of new features and changes, and see them through to production. You will also work directly with end users, including the quant team and brokers on the desk, to understand their needs and turn them into working software. Our codebase spans legacy and modern C++, so you will help keep established systems stable while contributing to an ongoing effort to modernise them. It is a good fit for an engineer early in their career who wants to grow their technical and domain expertise in a real-world financial technology environment.\nRole Responsibilities\nDesign, develop and test C++ features, and see them safely to production\nWork across legacy and modern C++, modernising while keeping systems stable\nHelp estimate work and discuss solutions with the team\nLearn the domain and codebase from Senior and Principal Engineers\nSupport directed refactoring towards target-state architecture\nContribute to the team's SDLC: planning, prioritisation and delivery\nWork directly with end users (quants and brokers) to deliver what they need\nExperience/Competencies\nEssential\nDegree in a technical subject or equivalent industry experience\nAround 2-3 years' commercial C++ experience\nProficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17 or later)\nSolid understanding of the STL, memory management, RAII and pointer semantics\nComfortable communicating directly with non-technical users\nComfortable using debuggers and diagnostic tools to investigate issues\nWillingness to work in a mixed legacy and modern codebase\nGrowth mindset and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers\nExperience of the software development lifecycle in a technical role\nFamiliarity with unit testing (for example Catch2 or similar)\nDesired\nExperience with multithreading and concurrency\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI or similar\nInterest in financial markets and OTC products (rates, swaps, bonds, credit)\nExperience with real-time, networked or low-latency systems\nExperience with performance profiling and optimisation\nExperience packaging and distributing libraries (for example NuGet)\nA general-purpose scripting language (such as Python, Perl or Ruby)\nWindows PowerShell or Linux shell experience\nExposure to other languages such as C#, Java or Python\nAwareness of secure coding practices (SAST)\nRole Band & Level\nProfessional / 5\n#LI-Hybrid #LI-ASO\nNot The Perfect Fit?\nConcerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
