As part of the Global DBA Team, they will support a diverse range of database platforms, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, Oracle Middleware, Oracle E-Business Suite, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and cloud-based databases. This role involves delivering infrastructure services and operational support for a growing global organization. Experience working in a financial institution or a similar environment would be highly desirable.\nRole Responsibilities:\nParticipate as part of a global database support team, providing comprehensive shift coverage to support TPICAP’s database environment worldwide, including a mix of on-site and remote work to ensure 24/7 coverage, adhere to agile working policies.\n\nRepresent the Global DBA team during major incident calls, taking ownership of problem resolution and ensuring timely completion of related tasks.\n\nDeliver operational support for database issues arising from incidents or changes.\n\nProvide solutions and root cause analysis for system performance issues and failures.\n\nCollaborate on projects, working closely with project teams to ensure smooth transitions of new databases and initiatives into the Production environment.\n\nWork closely with the functional manager and other team members to ensure cohesive operations.\n\nReview and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the database infrastructure.\n\nEstablish and maintain best practices, processes, and procedures to support business operations.\n\nPerform monitoring, testing, and capacity planning for databases.\n\nCreate and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including disaster recovery (DR) procedures.\n\nDrive innovation by continually seeking improvements to infrastructure for a faster and more efficient environment.\n\nSupport broader IT initiatives, including business continuity and security efforts.\n\nParticipate in the on-call rotation\n\nExperience / Competences:\nEssential\nExperienced DBA with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience, preferably in the Financial Services sector.\n\nProven expertise in managing Oracle databases, including versions 23ai and 19c.\n\nStrong understanding of Oracle Middleware, WebLogic 12c, and Oracle E-Business Suite.\n\nStrong knowledge of database clustering technologies, such as Oracle RAC and SQL Server AlwaysOn.\n\nExtensive hands-on experience in performance tuning, data replication, high availability, disaster recovery, and delivering analytics and reporting solutions.\n\nProficiency with enterprise monitoring tools such as Oracle OEM, Spotlight, and Grafana.\n\nSkilled in creating automation solutions using Unix shell scripting, Windows PowerShell, and Ansible.\n\nExperience in migrating databases to cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.\n\nComfortable working in fast-paced, agile, and high-pressure environments.Capable of managing outages and major incidents effectively.\n\nAble to work on rotational working shifts covering APAC, EMEA and AMERS time zones.\n\nFamiliar with ITIL standards.\n\nSolid working knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Windows server environments.\n\nDesired:\nDemonstrated success in managing MS SQL databases, including SQL Server 2022 and 2019.\n\nHands-on knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL databases is a plus.\n\nSolid grasp of cloud technologies and DevOps principles.\n\nITIL certification is desired.\n\nProfessional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified, or AWS Solutions Architect are preferred.\n\nSoft skills\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills.\n\nService-oriented, client-focused, resilient, and conscientious.\n\nDemonstrates accountability, adaptability, and authenticity.\n\nA collaborative team player who is goal-oriented and self-motivated.\n\nStrong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.\n\nAbility to articulate challenges with a focus on simplification, automation, and challenging the status quo.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.\n\nStrong numerical and analytical skills.\n\nCapable of presenting complex ideas in clear, user-friendly language.\n\nAlways willing to go the extra mile.\n\n#LI-MID #LI-Hybrid\nNot The Perfect Fit?\nConcerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
