In this role, you will lead quality initiatives for cloud platforms that support millions of connected devices and users worldwide.\nYou will be responsible for defining test strategies, driving automation, identifying quality risks, and ensuring the reliable delivery of scalable cloud services across TP-Link’s networking and smart home ecosystem. Working closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and fellow quality engineers, you will help shape the quality culture and engineering practices of our cloud platform organization.\nThis role is ideal for an experienced quality engineer who is passionate about cloud technologies, backend systems, automation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences at scale.\nResponsibilities\nOwn quality planning, test strategy, and test execution for cloud service projects and backend systems.\nServe as the quality owner for assigned projects, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and release readiness.\nDesign and develop test plans, test cases, and testing approaches based on business requirements, system architecture, and risk analysis.\nAnalyze distributed systems and microservices architectures to identify quality risks and testing opportunities.\nValidate cloud services through functional, integration, regression, API, database, and end-to-end testing.\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and test suites to improve test coverage and efficiency.\nIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.\nPerform backend validation using APIs, databases, logs, and monitoring tools.\nExecute performance, scalability, reliability, and resiliency testing for cloud services.\nCollaborate with development teams to investigate issues, reproduce defects, and support root cause analysis.\nParticipate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and requirement analysis to ensure quality considerations are incorporated early in the development lifecycle.\nDrive continuous improvements in testing methodologies, automation practices, and quality engineering processes.\nMentor junior engineers and promote quality engineering best practices across the team.\nEvaluate and adopt modern testing technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to improve engineering productivity and software quality.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.\n7+ years of experience in software quality engineering, backend system testing, or cloud service testing, with proven ability to define test strategies and lead quality initiatives for complex cloud systems.\nStrong understanding of microservices architectures and large-scale distributed systems, with the ability to analyze service interactions, identify quality risks, and develop effective testing strategies for cloud-based platforms.\nHands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized environments.\nFamiliarity with backend technologies such as Kafka, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or similar platforms.\nExperience working with AWS or other major cloud platforms.\nHands-on experience with performance, scalability, reliability, and resiliency testing.\nProficiency in Python or Java, with experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scalable test automation solutions.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and operations teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading quality initiative for complex projects or modules.\nExperience with IoT cloud platform, networking products, or smart home services.\nKnowledge of networking fundamentals, cloud security concepts, and observability tools.\nExperience leveraging AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted testing solutions to improve testing efficiency and engineering productivity.\nMandarin and English bilingual proficiency is a plus.\nWhy Join TP-Link\nWork on cloud services supporting millions of connected devices and users worldwide.\nInfluence the quality strategy for industry-leading networking and smart home products.\nBuild scalable automation solutions using modern cloud-native technologies.\nCollaborate with talented engineering teams across global locations.\nGain exposure to large-scale distributed systems, IoT platforms, and AI-assisted engineering practices.\nPlay a key role in shaping the future of TP-Link’s cloud ecosystem and customer experience.\nBenefits\nSalary Range: $135,000 - $170,000\nFully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (partial coverage for dependents) \nContributions to 401k funds \n15 days accrued vacation \n11 paid holidays \nBi-annual pay increases \nHealth and wellness benefits, including free gym membership \nQuarterly team-building events \nAt TP-Link Systems Inc., we are continually searching for ambitious individuals who are passionate about their work.
