They are most influential in generating retail sales for the club. They conscientiously tend to the needs of the players and guests ensuring that their golf experience runs as smoothly and enjoyably as possible.QUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school education or equivalent education \nBasic knowledge of general business practices, retail sales practices and procedures as would be acquired through one to two years of similar experience\nPrevious customer experience required\nRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES\nAssist PGA TOUR players, Members and Guests with their golfing needs, ensuring that every step of their golf experience at the club runs as smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible \nGreet and welcome Members and Guests in a professional and courteous manner\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with Members, Guests, and fellow staff Members\nAnswer questions and provide assistance and information to Members & Guests\nAnswer telephones to schedule future starting times and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner. This may include: \nAccurately record time and date of reservation in the online reservation system\nMake corrections and update online reservation system as appropriate when reservations have been filled or canceled\nEmail and telephone members/guests to verify advance reservations\nAdvises guests of any abnormal golf course conditions (overseeding, aerification etc.)\nCommunicate with local hotels/resorts concerning golf course profile (conditions)\nAccurately open, operate and close the point of sale system per the Club Operations Manual\nHandles and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards, gift certificates and Member charges described by standard operating procedures \nCollect green fees, car fees, and other incomes \nAssist with physical inventories as required\nAssist with the daily cleaning of the golf shop to ensure continued cleanliness and appearance of the Golf Shop, storage areas, and merchandise displays \nEnsure that displays are kept at par stock inventory levels at all times and that the appearance meets or exceeds PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. standards \nProfessionally communicate information, sell merchandise, and become fully knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques. Anticipate the needs of Members and Guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives\nAssist with all closing procedures for the Golf Shop\nCommunicate up to date information accurately and effectively using radio communications to all areas of the golf course (i.e. Caddie master, outside operations, maintenance, etc.)\nSpecial projects or other duties as assigned\nPaid Internship: $16.00 per hour\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT\nThis job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
