Our technology choices are driven by client needs, and our goal is to build highly flexible teams.\nResponsibilities\nLead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, security, and scalability.\nManage and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance to foster professional growth.\nEnsure that coding standards, development best practices, and operational processes are consistently applied.\nCollaborate with product managers, UX/UI teams, and other departments such as DevOps, QA, and IT to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure smooth delivery.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance, reliability, and security in software applications.\nConduct regular code reviews and ensure that feedback is constructive and promotes learning within the team.\nImplement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development and deployment process.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues throughout the software development lifecycle.\nStay up to date with the latest trends in software engineering, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and drive the adoption of new tools and methodologies where beneficial.\nManage project timelines, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within scope.\nContribute to bid questions & early-stage hiring, e.g. CV screening or technical assessments when required\nAbout You\nProfessional knowledge and experience\nEssential:\nExtensive experience in full-stack software engineering, including design, development, testing, and deployment.\nSome of the languages and frameworks our teams work with:Java / Kotlin\nPython\nC# / .NET\nFull stack JavaScript (Express, React, Node.js etc.)\n\nWe expect you to have deep experience in at least one of the above; you will also be flexible and comfortable picking up what the work requires\nStrong understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile, TDD, and DevOps.\nExtensive experience writing well-tested code.\nGood knowledge of cloud platforms(e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and infrastructure as code(Terraform)\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.\nExperience with various architecture patterns, e.g. microservices and event-driven.\nExperience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).\nProven ability to manage and lead engineering teams to success.\nExpertise in designing scalable and secure software architectures.\nDesirable:\nKnowledge of emerging technologies like AI\nPrevious relevant experience as a senior software engineer \nLeading a large multidisciplinary project\nLine management experience\nExperience in interviewing and screening candidates\nExperience responding to bid questions\nExperience working on NHS projects\nExperience working with Health API’s\nSkills\nSoftware Architecture: Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and efficient software architectures, ensuring alignment with business goals.\nCloud Platforms: Strong proficiency in cloud technologies, including architecture and deployment strategies.\nProgramming and Development: Advanced knowledge of multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g. .NET, React, Python).\nCI/CD and Automation: Implementing and maintaining continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines to accelerate development cycles.\nCode Quality and Testing: Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, XUnit) and best practices for ensuring code quality.\nDevOps Practices: Expertise in DevOps, particularly around automating deployment, monitoring, and scaling applications.\nCommunication: Able to confidently communicate with internal and external stakeholders at both the technical and non-technical levels.
