This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and play an active role in shaping the Company's legal, regulatory, and risk management strategy.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nThe list of job functions outlined below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. The omission of a specific job function or additional responsibility does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.\nManage litigation, claims and collections as well as supporting corporate, regulatory and operational legal matters. \nAdvise senior leadership on material exposures, litigation strategy, insurance, and indemnification matters, while providing practical, strategic guidance for a dynamic equipment leasing business.\nDraft and negotiate commercial agreements, settlement agreements, releases, confidentiality agreements, and other documents to support business operations.\nResearch and analyze litigation, collection matters, insurance, and commercial activity, providing clear recommendations to internal stakeholders.\nManage outside counsel, insurers, internal business partners, and other third parties.\nIdentify legal and regulatory issues, assist with policy development, and partner with business teams to implement strategic decisions.\nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\nOTHER JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nMaintain accurate legal matter files, documentation, reports, and tracking tools to support timely follow-up and effective matter management.\nPartner with internal departments to provide day-to-day legal support, respond to business questions, and escalate issues requiring more senior review.\nMonitor changes in applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices that may affect business operations, claims handling, collections, or compliance obligations.\nParticipate in meetings, training, and cross-functional projects as needed to support legal, operational, compliance, and risk management objectives.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nJuris Doctor required\nBar membership in New Jersey\n3 - 5 years of experience in litigation, collections, claims management, and insurance coverage.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.\nAbility to learn and effectively use contract management systems and other technology tools.\nStrong legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple matters and competing priorities with attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism.\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nExperience with commercial litigation, collections, insurance coverage, equipment leasing, secured transactions, or related financial services matters.\nAbility to provide practical, business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, outside counsel, insurers, and senior leadership.\nStrong attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: Office\nDIRECT REPORTS: Supervisory Role with Direct Reports\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Please see below:\nRegularly required to sit, walk and stand\nOccasionally will lift items up to 10 lbs\n\nThe above job is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
