This role combines production troubleshooting, stability engineering, and feature development. Engineers investigate customer-impacting issues, turn recurring production patterns into durable improvements, contribute to Product-requested feature packs based on priorities and team capacity, and participate in the on-call rotation.\nWe expect engineers to use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate investigation, implementation, testing, and documentation while owning the quality and correctness of the outcome.\nResponsibilities\nInvestigate and resolve complex production and customer-reported issues.\nAnalyze logs, APIs, application behavior, data, SQL, and AWS services to identify root causes.\nDesign and deliver fixes, stability enhancements, automation, and product feature changes.\nIdentify recurring production patterns and implement improvements that prevent repeat issues.\nContribute to Product-requested feature packs based on priority and team capacity.\nUse AI-assisted tools for debugging, implementation, testing, code review, and documentation; validate generated output.\nWork independently from problem definition through implementation, testing, and production validation.\nCollaborate with Services, Product Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Cloud Operations.\nParticipate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.\nParticipate in the Engineering Services on-call rotation, including scheduled coverage outside normal business hours as required.\nQualifications\n3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably developing and supporting SaaS or distributed applications.\nStrong hands-on experience with Java.\nHands-on experience with JavaScript and modern application development.\nHands-on AWS experience and understanding of cloud-based application architectures.\nStrong production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.\nExperience with REST APIs, SQL/databases, microservices, messaging systems, and distributed applications.\nExperience using AI-assisted engineering tools for development, debugging, testing, and technical analysis, with the ability to validate generated solutions.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and ownership.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nScala experience is preferred but not required; the ability and willingness to learn Scala is expected.\nExperience with observability tools, containers, or AWS services used in production environments.\nFamiliarity with Jira and Confluence.\nTraceLink is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits to all employees.
