You will oversee system integration, hardware bring-up, firmware development, part validation, and manage the product lifecycle from prototype to mass production.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nSystem Architecture & Integration\nPartner with electrical engineers to select components based on system needs, specifically focusing on microcontrollers (MCUs), communication interfaces, and power management units.\nSupport the integration of hardware, firmware, and software systems to ensure reliable overall system operation.\nHardware Bring-Up\nBring up new hardware platforms and debug standard interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, as well as communication protocols such as CAN Bus, RS-485, and Modbus.\nTroubleshoot hardware and firmware issues to ensure reliable connectivity and system operation.\nFirmware & System Logic\nDevelop low-level drivers and firmware.\nDesign and implement robust Finite State Machines (FSMs) to manage system behavior and safety states.\nDevelop firmware with consideration for system reliability, performance, and real-time constraints.\nPower & Efficiency\nDevelop and implement protocols to optimize energy consumption for battery-powered systems and sensors.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate hardware and firmware into complete systems.\nCollaborate across engineering disciplines to troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues.\nTesting & Validation\nDesign automated test fixtures for system sub-systems.\nValidate design integrity under dynamic conditions, including vibration and thermal testing.\nSupport product validation from prototype through production.\nMinimum Requirements:\nEducation: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.\nProgramming: Solid C/C++ programming skills with a strong understanding of memory management and real-time constraints.\n Experience: 4+ years working in bare metal and RTOS-based systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.).\n Protocols: Competence in BLE, LoRa, or LTE, plus industrial standards (CAN, Modbus).\n Debugging: Skilled with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power analyzers.\nThe salary range for this role is $120,000 to $200,000, plus bonuses and Pre-IPO equity. It is uncommon for anyone to be hired at or near the top range for their role, and final compensation is based on the facts and circumstances of the case.
