They answer to the CG Supervisor but also work in conjunction with the clients/production to ensure that matchmove assets are working consistently throughout the pipeline. When needed it will be important to step in to handle problem shots. UV objects when necessary.\nExpert Camera/Object matchmove. Ability to hand-key cameras/objects in Maya\nAbility to take over shots that an artist is unable to complete.\nAbility to Rotoanim a 3D character rig to precisely match actors. Including facial animation\nStrong layout skills, including camera track overs. \nMeticulous nature with a self-critical eye, and high standards. Able to QC own shots \nStrong problem-solving and identifying solutions without guidance\nAbility to give accurate time estimates for the entire matchmove team\nHighly motivated, and be able to work with the entire team/production. \nMentoring and advancing new junior artists.\nRegularly review and assess individual progress and goals of artists\nEngage in the performance management process such as performance reviews, daily feedback, and mentoring\nCommunicate clear and concise issues to the Matchmove Leads.\nManage all aspects of the department, including leads, and juniors/mids/senior artists. \nMaintain a professional level of knowledge about current developments in matchmove tools for computer graphics\nCollaborate and help develop the full matchmove pipeline to optimize artist workflow\nWork well under pressure. Excellent time management and work to tight deadlines. Handle client revisions in a timely manner\nPositive attitude and excitement for new challenges in an intense production environment\nTeam player who excels in a collaborative environment\nHandle client calls for new projects\nUtilize effective communication skills to receive client notes and deliver instructions/feedback to artists\n\nAccurate time management, handle bidding, understand the scope of work required with Production. Meeting production timetables/deadlines and budgets.\nBuild strong relationships with clients.\nProvide recommendations and technical solutions to Clients\nResponsible for ensuring that data coming from set is organized and available.\nInterview and help select new hires\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's Degree in computer graphics or a related subject\n5+ years experience as a Matchmove Artist\n2+ years experience as a Matchmove Lead\nProven ability to manage and mentor a team\nExpert knowledge in focal lengths, film backs, lens distortions, rolling shutter etc.\nExpert level skills in Syntheyes and/or 3de\nKnowledge in Rigging a plus\nStrong Knowledge of Photogrammetry\nStrong Knowledge of Maya\nBasic Nuke\nSoft tracking a plus (vertice animation with no rig)\nThe ability to script in MEL and Python is a plus\nMMSolver a plus\nSyntheyes - Geo H a plus\nOn-set supervision/ Data Collection a plus\nKeentools a plus, will be required to learn\nRequired software knowledge\nMaya\nSyntheyes and/or 3de\nNuke\nShotgun\nRecommended software knowledge\nMM Solver\nKeentools\nRussian3dScanner\nBlender\nPython/Mel\nWhy work at Track VFX?\nBenefits after 3 months!
