Make an impact!\nThe role of the Offloading Supervising Chemist is to directly oversee operations in the GWMC Treatment Plant and, in particular, tanker offloading, whilst maintaining the highest level of compliance to the company’s health and safety, environmental, procedural and statutory goals. The Shift Offloading Chemist is responsible for offloading activities, working with a small team of plant operators as part of the operational team reporting to the Shift Manager. To ensure efficient and optimum performance of both plant and personnel in order to provide the highest level of customer service.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nTo supervise the offloading of all tankers as directed by the Shift manager\nTo assist the Shift Manager in the processing of containerised waste\nTo direct traffic in the Treatment Plant, supervise the drivers and provide cover in the weighbridge\nTo continually strive towards the highest health & safety goals.\nTo maintain and follow company procedures where they impact on operations.\nTo assist plant operatives in their duties\nTo maintain the highest standards of housekeeping.\nTo assist the Shift Manager in supervising the Treatment Plant operatives, including directing their day-to-day work.\nTo provide assistance to Shift Manager in carrying out analysis and validation laboratory work.\nTo work with the Shift Manager to monitor and improve productivity and efficiencies, including those of the operatives.\nTo report maintenance issues and assist where necessary in their resolution.\nTo ensure that all records required by statutory regulation and company procedure are maintained.\nAct as Treatment Plant point of contact for the Shift Manager in their absence when required.\nTo perform all other reasonable duties and tasks as requested.\nDo you have what it takes?\nHNC or higher level qualification in Chemistry (or closely aligned subject)\nReliability\nDependable\nComputer literate\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nWhat’s in for you?\nCompetitive salary and bonus - up to £30,000\nContributory Pension\nFlexible benefits (access to our benefits platform for discounts and cash back on shopping purchases, gyms and leisure activities, cycle to work scheme and dedicated wellbeing centre)\nReady to make a difference?
