The Restaurant Manager (RM) supports the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by managing shifts, controlling costs, ensuring compliance, and leading the restaurant team in line with company policies and standards.\nThis role forms part of a structured succession pathway, starting with a supervised training phase at KFC Kraaifontein before assuming full RM responsibilities. Successful progression depends on passing all required training modules and certification assessments. \nKey Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:\nBuild People Capability\nSupporting the training, development, and coaching of Team Members to strengthen skills, performance, and long-term growth.\n\nProviding regular coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition to maintain high performance standards.\n\nLeading by example, acting as a visible role model on the floor and fostering a culture of respect, teamwork, and accountability.\n\nPerformance Indicators: Employee Engagement Score, Bench Strength & Internal Promotions & Training Completion & Certification \nDeliver a Consistent Customer Experience\nEnsuring all employees deliver on CHAMPS standards, consistently exceeding customer expectations.\n\nMonitoring and coaching performance for each shift to ensure customer satisfaction targets are met and issues are resolved effectively.\n\nForecasting, scheduling, and allocating staff efficiently to balance staffing costs while meeting business needs.\n\nEnsuring compliance with safety, health, and hygiene requirements, protecting employees, customers, and company assets.\n\nDriving a customer-first culture by addressing complaints promptly with professionalism and escalating unresolved matters to the RGM.\n\nEnsuring the restaurant environment is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming at all times.\n\nPerformance Indicators: CHAMPS/ROCC Audits, Customer Complaint Resolution Rate & Operational Routine Compliance \nGrow the Brand, Sales and Profits\nManaging day-to-day operations with a focus on sales growth, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.\n\nControlling food, packaging, and staffing costs in line with budget and performance targets.\n\nMonitoring and acting on sales, inventory, and controllable expense reports to meet or exceed margin targets.\n\nExecuting restaurant marketing initiatives to build sales and strengthen community engagement.\n\nEnsuring restaurant equipment and facilities are maintained to brand standards and report maintenance needs promptly.\n\nPerformance Indicators: Sales Growth vs Budget, Restaurant Profitability & Brand Initiatives Executed Success \nIdeal Requirements\nMinimum: Grade 12 / Matric\n\nEssential: 5 years supervisory experience with proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple shifts\n\nPassion for coaching, mentoring, and succession planning to foster growth and leadership within your teams\n\nAbility to interpret and act on P&L statements, manage budgets, control labour, food costs, and other controllables\n\nProficient with MS Outlook with the ability to use MS Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) at beginner level\n\nGood understanding of CHAMPS, food safety, health & safety compliance, and operational excellence in a high-volume environment\n\nGood numeracy and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and act on reports\n\nWillingness to work shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with business needs\n\nFlexibility to work at any Restaurant within region based on business needs\n\nKey Personal Inherent Characteristics\nHands-on, visible leadership style with ability to motivate and guide teams during shifts\n\nCustomer service oriented with ability to cultivate and sustain a “customer-first” culture.\n\nConflict resolution and effective problem-solving skills\n\nResults-driven with high accountability and resilience under pressure.\n\nOperational excellence in fast-paced environments with high attention to detail\n\nEffective time management, planning, and organizational skills.\n\nPassion for developing people and fostering a positive team culture.\n\nImportant Information for Candidates\nInitial Training: All successful candidates will undergo a structured training program at KFC Kraaifontein for 6 months. \n\nPassing Requirement: Progression to full RM level requires passing all training assessments.
