This is a senior individual-contributor role for an engineer who writes excellent production-quality Python code, can diagnose complex technical problems, and turns that expertise into reliable, maintainable and fast automation infrastructure. Our automation stack includes a Python-based backend for Clear Flow in house framework and Playwright with TypeScript for frontend end-to-end testing. The successful candidate will lead framework design and evolution, improve test reliability and execution speed, strengthen CI integration, and mentor other engineers. Experience testing financial technology or trading systems is highly desirable.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nLead continuous framework modernization: Own the technical direction and ongoing improvement of our automation frameworks, libraries, utilities and test architecture.\nWrite high-quality Python: Develop and review robust, readable, efficient Python code for backend automation, framework services, test utilities and integrations.\nImprove performance and scalability: Profile and reduce test execution time; identify bottlenecks in setup, data handling, environment interaction and parallel execution; improve resource use without sacrificing reliability.\nIncrease test reliability: Reduce flaky tests, improve diagnostics and failure reporting, strengthen logging and debugging support, and make failures easier to reproduce and resolve.\nDevelop end-to-end automation: Maintain and improve Playwright/TypeScript UI automation and ensure effective integration with Python-based backend testing.\nImprove CI/CD integration: Make automated suites easier to run and troubleshoot in CI pipelines; improve test selection, reporting, repeatability and feedback time.\nDesign for maintainability: Apply sound object-oriented design, modular architecture, reusable abstractions, clear interfaces and appropriate design patterns-avoiding unnecessary complexity.\nWork across teams: Partner with software engineers, quality engineers and infrastructure teams to investigate failures, improve testability and prevent defects earlier.\nProvide technical leadership: Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, partnership and practical guidance; establish coding standards and framework-development practices.\nMeasure impact: Use meaningful metrics such as execution duration, flakiness, failure diagnosis time, framework adoption and regression coverage to prioritize improvements.\nSupport quality strategy: help with product testing when needed as well help determine where automation provides the greatest value, while retaining sound test design and appropriate exploration or manual testing where needed.\nEssential Skills\nStrong, hands-on Python programming skills. You should be comfortable designing, implementing, debugging, profiling and refactoring non-trivial code-not just writing test scripts.\nTypically, 8+ years of relevant software engineering, test automation or framework-development experience, including substantial ownership of automation frameworks.\nDemonstrated experience designing and evolving reusable automation frameworks, test libraries or developer tooling used by multiple engineers or teams.\nStrong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, modularity, error handling, testing, debugging and clean-code practices.\nExperience building and maintaining integration-level, API or backend automated tests.\nPractical experience with Playwright and TypeScript for front end-end end-to-end automation, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent depth and quickly contribute to this stack.\nExperience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines and collaborative Agile software development.\nAbility to investigate complex failures across application code, test code, test data, environments and infrastructure.\nStrong communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to explain design trade-offs and raise engineering quality across a team.\nDesired Skills\nExperience testing financial technology, electronic trading, capital markets, market data, order management or other complex, high-throughput systems.\nExperience with development and maintenance of Python-based automation frameworks.\nExperience improving large regression suites through parallelization, smarter test selection, test-data management, code coverage, performance profiling and flakiness reduction.\nExperience with distributed systems, asynchronous programming, service integrations, messaging or event-driven architectures.\nExperience with Linux-based test environments, containers and troubleshooting environment-dependent failures.\nExperience using AI-assisted engineering tools effectively, with appropriate review and validation of generated code.\nWhat We Bring to the Table\nCompetitive Benefits & Perks in India We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance.\nHealth & Financial Security:Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage\n\n Time Off & Flexibility:Enjoy the best of both worlds: the energy and collaboration of in-person work, combined with the convenience and focus of remote days.
