Ultimately, this position supports the overall success of the food service operation by delivering consistent, high-quality food products and fostering a positive team environment.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nPrevious experience in a food preparation or cooking role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.\nBasic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.\nAbility to follow recipes and instructions accurately.\nPhysical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCulinary certification or formal training from an accredited culinary program.\nExperience working in a high-volume kitchen or accommodation food service environment.\nFamiliarity with kitchen equipment and cooking techniques specific to the cuisine served.\nStrong teamwork and communication skills.\nKnowledge of inventory management and food cost control.\nResponsibilities:\nPrepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.\nAssist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.\nMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils in compliance with health and safety regulations.\nCollaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and delivery.\nMonitor inventory levels and report shortages or quality issues to the kitchen supervisor.\nFollow all food safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and ensure guest safety.\nAssist with receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage conditions.\nSkills:\nThe required skills such as following recipes precisely and maintaining food safety standards are essential for daily meal preparation and ensuring guest satisfaction. Physical stamina and the ability to work efficiently under pressure enable the cook to meet the demands of a busy kitchen environment. Preferred skills like culinary training and experience with kitchen equipment enhance the quality and variety of dishes prepared, contributing to a more dynamic menu.
