prior to first-article\napproval and Customer pre-production launch builds.\nâLead and support tooling and component qualification activities, including design reviews, process validation, capability\nstudies as required.\nâDevelop and communicate detailed tooling development schedules, progress reports, and risk assessments to internal\nstakeholders, external suppliers, and program team members.\nâ Conduct regular tooling follow-ups and on-site supplier visits, documenting progress, risks, and action items through formal\ncontact and status reports.\nâMaintain accurate tooling schedules, tracking systems, and documentation to ensure all dies and components are fully\nreleased and production-ready.\nâSupport supplier stamping operations through die tryouts, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of forming,\ndimensional, and capability issues.\nâLead and coordinate tooling modifications, improvements, and corrective actions with external suppliers to address quality,\nperformance, and production concerns.\nâInvestigate and recommend design, material, and process improvements for problematic stamping tools across both new\nand existing programs.\nâDevelop, document, and deploy standardized methods, internal tooling standards, and best practices for metal forming\ntools to be used as supplier requirements for new die builds.\nâEvaluate and introduce new technologies, software, and processes to enhance RFQ development, tooling specifications, target\npricing, lead times, process control, and overall stamping component quality.\nRequirements:\nâBachelor’s degree, or diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Canadian university or college or relevant\nwork experience.\nâ3-5 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of complex, high-precision metal stamping tooling , preferably\nwithin the automotive industry.\nâDemonstrated automotive industry experience, with a strong understanding of high-volume production and quality\nrequirements.\nâProficiency in CAD and forming simulation software such as SolidWorks, Cimatron, AutoForm, or equivalent tools, along\nwith strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications\nâAdvanced working knowledge of GD&T, measurement techniques, material behavior, and metal forming processes and\nsimulations.\nâStrong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-\npaced environment.\nâProven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships with a diverse base of global tooling and\ncomponent suppliers.\nâThis position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ontario issued driver’s license and passport.
