Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.Trane in Northern California is hiring for an Area Service Leader to join our team. In this role you will be leading a geographical Service area and will be responsible for strategy and achievement of budget objectives for area. The Area Service Leader leads a team of Area Service Managers to execute safety and human resource initiatives and achieve targets. This position is responsible for its strategic outlook (1-2 years) and interfaces with customers on high visibility projects. This position leads effective change management initiatives, leads all hiring, training, and safety initiatives for specific area. The Area Service Leader position will report to the Regional Service Leader with a dotted line to the Area General Manger.\nWhat you will do:\nStrategic outlook-growing the business to meet targets (revenue, workforce forecasting, development of talent)\n\nP&L responsibility, provide monthly revenue forecasting, help drive service agreement base growth, repairs/installation/service turnkey growth by partnering with the acquisition team (sales).\n\nCustomer interface when managing large projects and growing service business\n\nBudget Control Responsibilities including expenses as compared to targets for overhead items such as fleet, uniforms, tools and safety equipment.\n\nRisk mitigation - responsible for managing risk in service agreements, service turnkey and repairs work.\n\nOversee the service coordination function to respond efficiently to customers, ensure technicians’ training and skill level is appropriately balanced to service customers, and leverage resources across the area.\n\nEffectively attract, coach, counsel, train and develop all service employees. Drive continuous improvement through company performance management process and technical product training programs available. Ensures that employee skill levels, including customer service, process and technical skills to the highest degree possible for area of responsibility.\n\nWorks with ASM team to ensure margin expectations are met during sales and fulfillment activities. Ensures that standard service work processes are created and followed.\n\nEnsures environmental, health and safety compliance within service team. Ensures training is provided to all employees to ensure a safe and productive work environment both in the shop and at customer sites.\n\nTravel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the site visits, the employee may be exposed to variable weather conditions; moving mechanical parts; heights, and other variable environmental conditions based on location.\n\n What you will bring:\n5+ years’ experience in HVAC or a related field, technical systems (or equipment or skilled trades).\n\n3+ years’ experience managing and coaching large teams and organizing work schedules.\n\nProject management skills to oversee and drive successful project execution for startups and customer requests.\n\nStrong business acumen and analytical skills; Deep knowledge of P&L and annual operating plans.\n\nTech-savvy with expertise in Microsoft applications.
