The selected individual will be responsible for preparing, conducting and reporting on the testing of embedded-based software for Trane Commercial HVAC products.\nWhat you will do:\nAnalyzing functional requirements, to generate a comprehensive set of test cases. Writing functional test procedures and automated test scripts that provide comprehensive testing of the product requirements.\n\nExecuting test procedures and automated test scripts as part of formal product testing.Conducting exploratory testing based on detailed knowledge of the product under test.\n\nReporting product issues within the defect tracking system.Verifying product defect fixes.\n\nHelping build and maintain the engineering test facilities (test room, test hardware and test software). Assisting in the development of hardware and software simulators when appropriate.\n\nHelping toadvance testing tools, technology, and processes within Controls Engineering.Make recommendations for improvement of the product testing process.\n\nFunction in a team environment by collaborating with extended team to build and enhance automated test tools and frameworks. Meet short- and long-term deadlines.\n\nEffectively meet the needs of internal and external customers. Work regularly and dependably.\n\nDemonstrate ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers.\n\nDemonstrate ability to perform mental tasks such as making decisions, learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment.\n\nTake on other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat you will bring:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science (or related discipline), or commensurate experience in softwaredevelopment or software testing is required.\n\nShould have demonstrated proficiency with MS Office(i.eexcel macros, pivot tables, xml files, excel formulas & commands)and MS Project.\n\nMust understand and adhere to safety measures when working with electrical equipment.\n\nAbility to effectively communicate with others both in writing and verbally.\n\nCourse work or experience in the following areas is desired: currenttest methodologies, quality assurance practices, and object-oriented and component-based product development.\n\nExperience developing software using AI tools is desired.\n\nCompleted or served as an engineering intern contributing to embedded controls development, software implementation, and structured software testing is desired.\n\nExperience with automated testing is desired.\n\nProgramming experience is desired.
