You'll join the manufacturing engineering team and own a summer project from start to finish. That includes sustaining engineering, new product launch work, and continuous improvement. You'll get hands-on experience on the production floor, mentorship from experienced engineers, and a chance to present your results to plant leadership at the end of the summer. Students from any engineering discipline are encouraged to apply.\nThis position is located in Greenville, SC. The internship runs about 10-12 weeks, from [May/June]to [August]2027, full-time and on-site.\nWhat you will do:\nLive the Values: Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Innovation, and Courage, and demonstrate the Trane Technologies Leadership Principles.\nFollow all work and safety rules.\nOwn a defined improvement project, such as reducing test failures, improving cycle time, or improving a workstation, from data collection through implementation.\nUse data to measure process performance, find trends, and recommend improvements (Pareto charts, time studies, root cause analysis).\nSupport new product introduction activities, including line layouts, process flows, and launch readiness tracking.\nCreate and update work instructions and standard work for production processes.\nHelp design and build fixtures, tooling, and workstation improvements using CAD tools.\nTake part in lean activities such as 5S, waste reduction, and kaizen events.\nWork with production team leads, operators, quality, and maintenance to understand problems and put solutions in place.\nLearn manufacturing systems like MES (Apriso), PLM (Windchill), and torque tool setup software.\nPresent project results and recommendations to the engineering team and plant leadership at the end of the internship.\nWhat you will bring:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or similar).\nRising junior or senior preferred.\nMinimum GPA of 3.0\nInterest in manufacturing, production, and hands-on problem solving.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).\nSome exposure to CAD (AutoCAD, Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar) is a plus.\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts is a plus.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nDetail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.\nProactive, curious, and comfortable on a production floor.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$25.92Compensation Type:\nHourlyIncentive Eligible:\nNoSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
