This role serves as the essential bridge between floor-level warehouse operations, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and executive finance. The primary mandate is maintaining exceptional inventory count accuracy, minimizing material shrinkage and obsolescence, leading cycle counting programs, and driving lean inventory practices to free up working capital while ensuring seamless operational readiness. In addition to technical stock oversight, the Inventory Control Manager leads, coaches, and develops a dedicated team of inventory specialists, cycle counters, and material handlers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nWhat you will do:\n1. Inventory Accuracy and Control\nMaintain inventory accuracy across internal warehouses, external warehouses, and production locations.\nDevelop and execute cycle count programs based on risk, inventory value, and discrepancy history.\nLead annual physical inventory activities, including preparation, execution, reconciliation, and corrective actions.\nInvestigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes, including transaction errors, incorrect bills of material (BOMs), missing receipts, unrecorded material movements, scrap, and counting errors.\nEstablish corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring inventory issues.\nMonitor negative inventory balances and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.\n2. Inventory Systems and Transaction Integrity\nEnsure accurate and timely inventory transactions in Oracle and other applicable systems.\nAudit receiving, put-away, transfers, picking, kitting, scrap, and material consumption transactions.\nEnsure material movements are recorded in the system according to established standard work.\nPartner with Purchasing, Receiving, Production, and IT to resolve system-related inventory issues.\nMaintain accurate inventory locations, part numbers, quantities, and transaction history.\n3. Metrics and Performance Management\nEstablish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including:\nInventory accuracy percentage.\nCycle count completion and accuracy.\nPhysical inventory adjustments by value and root cause.\nNegative inventory balance and resolution rate.\nInventory transaction accuracy.\nAging inventory and excess/obsolete inventory.\nReceiving and put-away transaction compliance.\nAnalyze trends and communicate performance, risks, and corrective actions to leadership.\nDevelop dashboards and visual management tools to support daily operational reviews.\n4. Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving\nLead root-cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 5 Why, A3, and 9-Step Problem Solving.\nDevelop action plans to reduce inventory adjustments and improve inventory record integrity.\nStandardize inventory control processes across warehouses and production areas.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve BOM accuracy, material traceability, and transaction compliance.\nLead improvement projects focused on inventory reduction, process efficiency, and operational discipline.\n5. Leadership and Team Development\nLead, coach, and develop inventory control personnel, analysts, and team members.\nEstablish clear performance expectations, accountability, and standard work.\nEnsure employees are trained and qualified to perform inventory control activities.\nConduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning.\nPromote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, safety, and data-driven decision-making.\n6. Cross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Materials Planning to maintain accurate inventory availability and support production schedules.\nWork with Receiving and Warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate material transactions.\nCollaborate with Production to investigate material shortages, consumption discrepancies, and line-side inventory issues.\nPartner with Finance to support inventory valuation, reconciliation, and audit requirements.\nCoordinate with suppliers and external warehouse providers to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve inventory visibility.\nWhat you will bring:\nBachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred; relevant years of work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.\n5+ years of progressive inventory control, materials management, or warehouse management experience, preferably in a manufacturing, assembly, or high-volume distribution environment.\n2+ years of demonstrated supervisory or people-management experience with proven success building and coaching operational teams.\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$90,900.00 - $130,059.99Compensation Type:\nSalaryIncentive Eligible:\nNoSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
