If the answer is yes, we invite you to consider joining us in boldly challenging what's possible for a sustainable world.\nLearn about our benefits designed for you to Thrive at work and at home.\nWe boldly go.\nWhere is the work:\nOn-Site (5 days)\n What you will do:\nConduct quality assurance inspections and use findings to improve production processes and standards.\nInvestigate quality issues, identify root causes, initiate corrective actions, and verify resolution.\nParticipate in Root Cause Analysis and structured problem-solving activities.\nCollaborate with Engineering and Production to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and develop repair/rework instructions.\nMaintain accurate documentation of non-conforming materials, defects, and inspection results.\nEscalate relevant defects to Quality Engineering and/or Supplier Quality.\nCreate quality alerts and execute containment activities as needed.\nPerform inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.\nEnsure proper calibration, validation, and safe operation of inspection equipment.\nConduct internal audits of departments and workstations, identifying opportunities for process improvement.\nSupport metric reporting using the Quality Management System and Manufacturing Execution System.\nDemonstrate thorough understanding of technical components and processes involved in chiller assembly.\nPerform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on parts and assemblies.\nSupport development and maintenance of Control Plans and quality system documentation.\nAssist with training and coaching on quality processes, standards, and tools.\nCompile weekly and monthly reports as required.\nLead problem-solving initiatives to improve quality, safety, and Takt attainment.\nAnalyze data to reduce defects, rework, and external failures, and to improve customer satisfaction.\nEnsure quality and process requirements are clearly understood and consistently followed.\nPartner with Engineering and Operations to establish capable, effective quality plans and processes.\nCollect, report, and communicate quality metrics and issues.\nConduct process audits and support implementation of improvements.\nSupport the Quality Management System by delivering compliant products and meeting quality objectives.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements.\nUse precision measurement tools, instruments, and electrical testing equipment (e.g., voltmeters).\nParticipate in MDI meetings and follow Standard Work and Escalation Plans.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPart of the Quality team supporting Manufacturing and Engineering at our Grand Rapids, MI facility.\nCommitted to strong values, culture, and engagement.\nDedicated to delivering excellent service to internal customers.\nCollaborative environment focused on strong cross-functional relationships.\nReports to Quality Engineering and works closely with Operations and Quality team members.\nKey Competencies and Success Factors:\nStrong hands-on problem-solving skills and sound judgment.\nSelf-starter with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.\nCustomer-focused, professional, and discreet.\nAble to maintain confidentiality, build trust, and demonstrate integrity.\nHighly detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nEffective in fast-paced, high-volume environments.\nProficient in creating and maintaining technical and operational documentation.\nSkilled in data management and proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nStrong critical-thinking ability-logical, curious, and methodical.\nAbility to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.\nWhat you will bring:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems testing or repair.\nTwo years of college/technical school, four years of related experience, or equivalent combination.\nExperience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (MDI, Kaizen, 5S, etc.).\nProficiency with quality inspection methods and processes.\nFlexibility with work schedule.\nStrong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly operations.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across teams.\nSkilled in blueprint reading and knowledgeable in GD&T.\nBasic understanding of compressor-related components and critical features.\nAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:\n$24.76 - $29.60Compensation Type:\nHourlyIncentive Eligible:\nNoSales Commission Eligible:\nNoDisclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
